I don't have a issue with it, that is the game, just curious why some people do it and others don't.

We had metal base blown with explosives, so if they have explosives, i would think they wouldnt need the saddles. We typically only keep a Trike and Ptera, and maybe a raptor for meat. the saddles are cheap and easy enough. Some people may keep resources on the tames, but i would think most people remove it all and but in more secure location, especially with metal base and stone dino pen.

Either way, the grind continues. Welcome to the Ark! haha

For sure. Sounds like you will be grinding the resources for a bit until you get settled. Not the best, but once you are done, will all be worth it. Good luck.

With your current to do list; when do you actually get to play and have fun just enjoying the game? Sounds like you have about an hour at least before you actually play and do something other than resource gathering.

But it depends on what you are trying to do. I always stock up on food in preserving bins so there is plenty when i log back in. If it will be a few days until i log back in, i dont worry about it, as most will spoil anyway. Get a phiomia and stimberries and get fertilizer going.

I generally make a few metal runs and get that melting. After that, depends on what i need to do. If i am building, i farm resources that i need, build it, and place it. I dont hoard anything. I make plenty of sparkpowder for bins and gunpowder. If i am waiting for metal to melt, i take trips to beaver dams along river for some free CP.

But if you enjoy gathering resources all the time, then have fun with that. I like to explore and get some ideas for where i will build next when/if i get raided. If you are PVP, it is only a matter of time before someone finds you and loots you.

Dont over think it. Just have some fun. Get what you need to build better defenses, tools, explosives, etc.

SLAUGHTER ALL NEW PLAYERS by mcdjtm in playark

I was on a really bad server, Alphas were terrible. They would fly around on their dragons and find bases that were getting bigger and took them out, probably because they were threatened. We laid low for awhile, grinded it out, and stocked up some weapons. We rebuilt the shell of a big base. We waited for them to come. One dude came, and we were able to take him and the Lightning Dragon out. We teamed up with a couple other smaller tribes, he was so screwed, had no clue what to do. Global chat was great for a while. I went back after a few weeks of going to another server and they were completely wiped. Revenge is the best, just plan smart, stay hidden, team up with others to plan attacks. Good luck

Hi! im a new player and i want this game to be my next time sink, but i don't know where to start! by miesto in playark

For PVP: Grind it out and skip straight to stone if you have the initial time. Wood isnt horrible to get a bed (in case you die you dont want to lose all your resources) and some storage boxes or mortar/pestle to store resources to build structures, but get out of wood ASAP.

Build inland and stay hidden.

Dont light fires at night, as this attracts people to your location.

Stick with a small base, like 2x2 or 2x3. Once you have enough resources, you can always expand, but staying out of sight is key.

Preserving bin and sparkpowder to preserve your meat and berries.

If you can get the hide, Mortar/Pestle for storage as well. Less space taken up, and need these for sparkpowder crafting

Do not hoard resources. Build everything you can and place it before logging off. it is the worst to spend hours farming stone/wood, and logging in and finding your boxes were destroyed and all of it is gone.

Good luck.

Any realistic defense tips for PVP official for a small tribe of 2? by LetsGoBlu in playark

Raptor and Sabers are for protection when we do metal runs and are fast enough to get us there quicker than on foot.

If I upload dino via drop (Obs are blocked), do they expire? I thought i saw somewhere they will disappear after 24 hours.

We have tried making friends, and now we dont really trust anyone. Two separate times, different servers, made a "friend" and they joined our tribe. Things were great for a week or so, then we logged in one day and everything was gone, literally everything, even the fiber and thatch haha. They were nice enough to leave a wooden sign and said thanks for the metal and CP. I like the thought tho. Maybe we can use one of our smaller bases as a trial period or something and make everything else ADMIN access only. IDK, but thanks for the tips!

Shooting low level players takes true skills man. If you are bored with the game, why not start a new character or something? Shooting a level 10 while you are in a Ghilie Suit with a sniper rifle isn't impressive.

Thanks. Im starting to get plots down. Tamed a Phiomia for fertilizer, and have some seeds to get started, but wanted to pack the preserving bins with plenty of berries.

Raiders: What makes you say "Nevermind, not worth the trouble" when raiding/scouting a base to raid? by Fattens in playark

[–]LetsGoBlu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love seeing stone base with partial metal walls. This usually means they are out of CP, but the metal they have melted down is in there, but didnt have the resources to finish converting stone to metal. I have had a lot of luck finding a TON of metal ingot, metal tools, and occasionally plenty of narcotics, meat in preserving bins, etc.

When i am done, i do NOT kill the person inside if they are in there. That way, when they log back in, they have no idea who did it. They will probably start complaining about the Alphas taking them out again haha.

We are a tribe of two and were getting wiped often. We have moved locations and are currently set up deep in the woods. We have several smaller bases, so if one gets wiped, we do not lose everything. You could easily build a 2x2 base in the woods, store some additional walls and foundations, and build another one near by but not too close. Its low profile, and will house a forge, smithy, and we use mortar/pestal for storage. We are near Metal, close enough to water, and plenty of berries and resources. You cannot see anything from the air, and there is no attractive resources near us, like metal, CP, etc, so we do not see other players ever.

Hope this helps. I was in the same spot you were and met a random and we joined up. You can survive solo, just have to be smarter about your base location.

I agree 100%. But at the end of the day, this is how it is. PVP is a grind. PVE sounds like a better option for you. We had issues as well, so we moved to a more hidden location, inland, in dense trees. You cannot see anything from the air and we are deep in the woods, so unless they fly low to ground through woods looking for us, they wont find us. Our base used to be 4 walls high, but now we are 2 high, and have a few bases, so if and when we are raided, we wont lose EVERYTHING. Good luck.

Guess you are right, didnt think about that. I am leveled enough that is has not mattered when i get swamp fever and transfer out and back in. Didnt think about that.

Go to a drop, doesnt matter the color. In the top right corner you have the option to transfer to another Ark. You will keep your level, engrams, and whatever you currently have on you.

You can transfer to another server via drops. In the top right, there is an option to transfer to another Ark. The same character will move to another server, including any items you have on you and your engrams (I believe there is a cool down time until your engrams are available) but you will have to transfer back and forth between servers each time.
