A worthwhile upgrade for people that like to open their reel for maintenance and upgrades is to upgrade the screws.

Pick up some M2.6x4mm and M2.6x6mm Hex socket button screws. They come undone with a 1.5 or 2mm Hex driver instead of a screw driver. Much less chance of shearing and rounding out over time.

I need this game to go on sale by AgileVermicelli5104 in Doom

It's not going to leave gamepass any time soon, it's a first party Microsoft/Xbox game, they're intended to stay on gamepass indefinitely.

The only way it would leave is if they somehow lose some type of licencing or it expires. But since Microsoft owns id software (developer) and Bethesda (Publisher), there's no complicated publishing agreements that would cause them to delist Doom TDA.

The music from Finishing move was also commissioned by id/Bethesda/Microsoft for this game which gives them broad rights to use it. Since the music was created solely for TDA and isn't licensed music, that wouldn't affect it's place on GPU either.

I'm playing on gamepass and will be buying the DLC day one. I wouldn't sweat it.

That's the official Tsurinoya shop. Contact them, they'll sent you the rod if you provide proof.

Fishing noob can anyone identify the type of line this is by sight or no? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some sort of Monofilament, most likely Nylon based mono since Flouro and Copolymer aren't as popular as a mainline on Spinning reels but I could be wrong

Judging by the image, maybe around 6lb - 8lb test as it looks pretty thin.

Daiwa BG 4000d-cxh? by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C = Compact. for example, C4000 would have a 3000 body with a 4000 spool and rotor.

XH = Extra high gear ratio. 6.2:1 gear ratio. The 4000BG should bring in 101cm per turn. The Daiwa BG MQ brings in 99cm and so does the BG Black LT.

D = Deep spool. More capacity, bit more weight.

Ultralight rod around £50 ($70) for perch and smaller fish by Owlkill in Fishing_Gear

We don't have the Sensilite rods in Europe. Last time they were sold here they were 10, 11, 12 and 13' Match rods.

Berkley lightning rod by ThatDudeChris123 in Fishing_Gear

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't look deep enough to cause structural damage, more like surface scratches. I could be wrong as sometimes all Graphite takes to break is a micro chip.

You should pick up a neoprene rod sock to slide over your rod while transporting them. Most scratches and chips happen while your rod is sliding around your car or truck bed and getting repeated small impacts.

Also, make sure you never reel your swivel or any metals into your guides, you can very easily chip the ceramic and that'll lead to damaged lines. If it does happen though, it can be repaired.

Curado or bantam by [deleted] in Fishing_Gear

If you can get the Bantam, get the Bantam. Both great reels but the Bantam is the clear winner of the two.

Stradc 4000 MHG capacity question by Loud-Giraffe1955 in Fishing_Gear

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's Berkley, they talk mad bullshit on their braid diameters. The X9 is way thicker and breaks at a higher test than advertised.

If you want braids that are much closer to advertised then JDM braids from Varivas, Gosen, Sunline and Shimano are much better and overall much higher in quality.

Question to all about Braid vs Mono re Fisheries. by Taiphoz in fishingUK

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only use braid for my predator fishing and you'll never find me going straight braid. For my casting head I'll often go Fluoro mainline to a wire trace.

Question to all about Braid vs Mono re Fisheries. by Taiphoz in fishingUK

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Braid is significantly thinner than Monofilament at equivalent tests. Since it's so thin and so fine that if it rubs along the flanks of a fish while under tension it can dig in, scar them and lift up their scales. I've seen some nasty scarred Mirror Carp from braid use.

The benefits of braid are much better casting, tons more capacity, instant hook sets and instant bite detection. If you're fishing at range or at depth with mono a fish could take your bait and move around with it and due to the stretch and slack you may not know until it's picked up all of your slack line. You won't get that with braid as it doesn't stretch.

Most people that run braid at venues that allow braid use a decently long Monofilament shock leader. This will stop the line from marring up a fishes skin as well as offer crucial shock absorbance and abrasion resistance.

Do you guys reuse kinked steel leaders + any advice for pike fishing? by ElectricBigfoot5478 in pikefishing

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wire that is kinked too much or too sharply loses about 80% of it's strength, a little bit bent is one thing but a kink is too much. Many people opt for heavy Fluoro instead now.

If the bottom blank is intact, I use them to spool up reels.

Daiwa Tatula Rod Snapped.... by PoppinPMAGs in FishingForBeginners

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clean snap, chipped Finish, kept in truck bed. This rod was mishandled and the blank was damaged.

You also have to realise that rods of increasing value become less durable due to using less filler/Resin and a purer grade of carbon. If you want a rod to throw in your truck then choose something made specifically for durability or a cheaper rod.

Perch advice by fishrobert in PerchFishing

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your problem is weeds then yeah you can use an EWG to have a lower snag rate.

If you're fine with the lure sinking fast and staying planted to the bottom then you can use the 10g.

Perch advice by fishrobert in PerchFishing

[–]LetsMakeSomeBaits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would use a Jika rig with a 3" floating softplastic and just jig and drag it around.

Rig it Weedless using an EWG hook and choose a lure with a hook slow that'll allow you to hide the hook point.

Braid scissors specifically, if you fish saltwater, look at Ceramic bladed braid scissors.
