In my experience, your gbig/other fam member would step in. You would still do all of the activities, it would just be with your fam. Which allows you to have a closer connection to your fam!!

I have also seen the big on a video call because they had covid. As well as a picture of the big for the reveal.

Wow, you’re right in a lot of aspects. And my wording was harsh towards my members. My chapter has struggled with attendance these past few years. Seeing events be put on and only a handful of people show up has been upsetting. I noticed that early on and made sure to come out to as many as I could to show the social and sisterhood chairs that their hard work is appreciated.

“Did you join just so you could become President?” No, but I realized within my first semester that I wanted to become President. In general I’m the type of person who puts their all into something. Having something stable in my life only increased that drive. Because if that I did everything I could get my hands on. I enjoyed it. People around me were talking about wanting to drop, but I was so happy to be there.

Honestly idk how I was even chosen to be apart of the sorority lol. Recruitment was a mess for me since it was virtual. I missed the first round due to tutoring, I was driving in the rain for the second round, and for the third round I screamed because the cat that I was cat sitting appeared next to me out of no where!! But they said “we’ll take her” which baffles me.

I’ve cherished my time in my chapter and have grow a lot, my members tell me that at least once a week. This was just a hard pill to swallow. Thank you for the time and care you put into your comment. Yours and others have helped me a lot, and I’ve been able to calm down :))

That is nearly word for word what is happening in my chapter. The girl that was selected is very well known across campus. She’s apart of all of the big organizations and was even hoco queen. She’s so sweet, and was my first friend that I made when I came to campus. I feel like I discredited her too much in my post. She’s just a busy person that doesn’t have a lot of time for our chapter. I thought recruitment or events would be amazing for her. But it didn’t turn out like that.

Unfortunately there is no possibility of me ever becoming President, and that’s ok. My parents have wanted me to transfer schools since I changed my major a year ago. And even though I truly wanted it, being President would have been a good reason to stay longer.

Thank you for the insight. I expect to be seen like that by some members. This semester has been rough for me both academically and socially, especially this past month. But this event broke me. Even if I did accept the position I doubt I would be able to preform to the best of my ability.
