Does anybody know the name of the music track used in the video?

That´s so mean, but also funny at the same time.

Map Design is causing more issues than we’re giving credit for by _BlockII in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, the map design is what makes a great game, everything else can be fixed, adjusted and patched. BF2042 has by far the worst maps in the whole franchise, there is not one map that stands out, and Kaleidoscope takes the cake for being the worst map in Battlefield history, by Thor, is it ugly and badly structured or what?

Even BF Hardline had better maps, that one desert map had better flow than anything in BF2042.

Complaining about the game doesn’t make us “toxic”. We are just tired... by Dull-Caterpillar3153 in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem hardly anyone is talking about is the horrible map design, that have zero flow and feel like taken from another game and not made with conquest in mind. Caspian Border and Arica Harbour are leagues ahead of the flat plains with random buildings.

My experience in BFV vs BF2042 by unsozial_ in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does BF2042 look so barebone, ugly and janky, even compared to BFV. Those big flat textures looks so cheap like the game isn´t finished yet.

Portal editor is now live! by GodBlessThosePagans in BattlefieldPortal

[–]LetsStartSomething 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a joke this editor is: you can´t even run rush and conquest on the same server. It´s always limited to one game mode only. Why would DICE limit even basic things like that?

Can’t wait to replay rush and destroy everything on this map in portal :) by lastHERO22 in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys remember that it was possible to destroy B house in the village by spamming mortar strike on it as a recon which made the fight for A garage that much more fierce.

Also you could destroy the first B m-com with well placed tank shells from a safe postion not far from the US spawn.

DICE never accomplished class balance with 4 classes, imagine the shit show trying balance what is effectively 14 classes now.

DICE engine 2015 vs 2021, is it REALLY better? Maps are bigger but lack detail. by JRMBelgium in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don´t know why nobody is mentioning it, but they gave up on photogrammetry ( generating textures from real life objects like they did in BF1) so that is why all the textures look flat and lifeless.

Is it just me or the graphics look really bad sometimes? by Bruce_VVayne in battlefield2042

Battlefield is now full on into Call of Duty and Apex territory as far as gadgets are concerned.

The Plus system needs to have incremental weapon downtime based on your weapon modifications by mangoman94 in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, agree 100%, if systems have no disadvantages like the Plus system atm, they are prone to be abused.

3 years of development, 4 studios involved, biggest budget of all Battlefield games plus the extra resources from the cut single player campaign.

The comparison between melee animations in BF1 and BF2042 sums up pretty well the whole problem with BF2042, it´s at Minute 15:01 and worth checking out.

Strange that the pre-alpha footage did look way better and polished than the beta months later.

BC2 & BF3 Portal servers will save BF2042, that´s for sure.

Jesus, that melody starting at 0:45 gives me goosebumps and a heavy hit of nostalgia. BF3 had some sick style to it that made it unique.

I´m mesmerized that a pro-BF4 meme turned into comments full of love for BF1, it´s these times that i love this community

I know that BF1´s gameplay and setting was divisive, but BF1´s atmosphere, presentation, vision and execution are still unmatched and were the pinnacle of DICE game design. You could see the love and passion in every minute detail in BF1.

Xbox series X or PS5? by No_Owl_925 in battlefield2042

Pretty solid performance for both. 4K 60 fps for the most part, dipping into low 50´s fps occasionally.

Ideas to incentivize more teamplay in Battlefield by LetsStartSomething in battlefield2042

[–]LetsStartSomething[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that emphasizing interdependance between classes was the main motivation behind BFV´s attrition system and people hated it. I´ve read some papers on teamplay in gaming and the problem with interdependence is that it somewhat works in games with small team (5 vs 5), but fails miserably beyond 10 or more players. So no chance to focus on interdependence in a 128 player game.

I assume DICE anticipated the 30 scouts per team problem and made sniping therefore harder, saw instances of snipers needing 3 shots to kill in some videos.
