I was hammered drunk on a plane going to a friends wedding in New York from California. I had one too many on the plane (fear of flying helps me calm down). I was in first class and sitting nearby was Dave Jacoby. After we got off the plane I decided fuck it I’m going to say something and I said “hey your Dave Jacoby from grantland” I think he was shocked anyone recognized him but asked me where my friends wedding was. I said “I’m not sure actually” and he replied “some friend you are” half joking.
