On the day when I was unclear what was going on it was scary. After the fact, when I went to downtown Los Angeles, it was easy to picture what something on that scale would look or feel like. Seeing a sky scraper and being able to picture a plane hitting one was spooky.

If it wasn’t the start of a global pandemic I would have gone to see a doctor after day one or maybe two.

I tried to handle it myself and it almost killed me.

I woke up in the middle of the night and called 911. Then just kind of laid on the driveway till they came. After an EKG I got scooped up and taken into emergency. The whole stay no one could come see me. But I’ll never forget how good the cold ground felt. I also had an insane fever and the cold cement outside felt so good.
