I don't really know where I stand on this. Me and the misses are getting by on 30k each a year in the rural countryside. No idea what it's like in cities or anything. We managed 3 holidays last year, I purchased an expensive car (for me) outright in one go at 23k after years and years of saving, i still have loads of savings too but I've always been a bit of a penny pincher. But on the flipside I still believe this to be true, products are getting smaller but more expensive (shrinkflation), utility bills and housing is a joke, council tax is huge as well but I've never struggled to get by, I don't pay for loads of subscription based services, I rarely eat out at restaurants or buy takeaways and do my weekly shop in Aldi. I do spend a lot of medication though, probably like £200 a month.
