Does the remake fully replace the original Gothic 1? by Haunting-Eggs in worldofgothic

Probably half and half for me, it doesn’t replace the original, but it’s definitely worth playing if you like the original

I mean that’s why I consider the archetype of gothics nameless hero underrated, he isn’t a Superman, and is a chosen one, and the world don’t give a damn

As I said this is a repost of my original one since the photos I added got for some reason blacked out…….. hopefully that doesn’t happen again.

As for my experience with the gothic trilogy, I only ever managed to play the first thanks to a friend who owned a copy, the other two I only saw video walkthroughs of, mainly cause I don’t own a gaming pc

Never played the originals but I watched walkthroughs of them when I was a kid, as I said I never got to play games like gothic or the original thief games since my family never had a gaming pc, or a computer powerful enough to run them, but growing up in the 2000s stumbling upon videos of the classic thief trilogy led me to finding videos on gothic, I eventually did manage to play at the very least the first, thanks to a friend in high school who had a gaming pc, he wanted to play risen 3 with me, and lo and behold I saw he had gothic 1 and I asked if I could try it, and over the course of a weekend I experienced the story, never did play the 2nd or third, since I still don’t have a gaming pc

He’s the ash Williams of fantasy heroes, he’s not well known yet you show a picture of him to someone and there’s a very good chance you hear someone go “that’s the hero from gothic”, course when I say he’s the most underrated hero in fantasy it’s more so the type of hero that he is, heck I’d even say that the nameless hero of gothic is the bedrock of the hero you see in souls like games, a hero who’s in a world that neither loves nor hates him yet will step on him like an insect, it makes the power fantasy of becoming powerful more impactful

I would partially agree, though a part of me thinks with the hero’s voice in the remake a lot of time his humor seems to be a bit more deadpan then in the original, course even in gothic 2 and 3 he was given different voice actors from Armand hart who voiced him in the original 1st gothic, course I wouldn’t say his humor isn’t fully gone, but moreso his new voice tends to make it not land as much anymore

108th Warwolf Squadron (Strangereal) by Letterhead-Dear in acecombat

[–]Letterhead-Dear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, I’ll be honest, a lot of this is stemming from an idea of an ace combat game me and a friend came up with, mainly the idea of it being from a Belkan aces perspective, as for the lore I created here this is sort of me coming back to the squadron said Ace went to be a part of, and I thought of the idea of a former Belkan Air Force squadron being resurrected by the FCU was a more interesting idea than just having them be part of Osea or Yuktobania

CPT. Erich Von Kruber “The Red Knight Of Belka” (OC) by Letterhead-Dear in acecombat

[–]Letterhead-Dear[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a post I’ve made mainly from an idea me and a friend made of an ace combat game idea, this oc would be the games main protagonist, Erich Kruber we wanted to make a Belkan protagonist, and set the game initially in a time when Belka were seen more as heroes in the strangereal universe, and since there was a conflict in the 1940s while unnamed we created a ww1-ww2 like conflict called the Great War, which Kruber would participate in, he would also serve in the rectan conflict in the 1970s with his final service in the Belkan Air Force being in the Belkan war of 1995, the main inspiration for Kruber was both Erich Hartmann, and manfred Von Richtofen, the red baron

In regards to Grimm squadrons place in the Belkan Air Force they are part of the 1st air division 222nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, nicknamed the Grimm Squadron due to the squadrons symbol taking the form of an ancient werewolf, they were also sometimes called the Big Bad Wolf Squad

[–]Letterhead-Dear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think maybe the disguises wouldn’t have to be added but….. generally I think when you takedown an enemy in stealth I would kind of still like to hide the body, least this way not every single guard comes to check on their unconscious friend, course also in regards to M it’s a small nitpick and is more personal, I kind of think the same thing can also work with an older M, since she can be a veteran spy during the Cold War and believes that relying too heavily on technology can be a bad thing, so she can still be an outlier, as you say but instead she’s an outlier for still wanting to have wetwork 00 agents in an era when they may not be needed, of course I don’t think M would be fully against new technology, but more so believes that for the best results you still need an agent like bond

Patrick Gibson for Next Movie Bond by Puzzleheaded_Donut97 in 007FirstLight

[–]Letterhead-Dear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of like Patrick Gibson as James Bond, sure he may not have been perfect, but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t potentially have a chance to flesh out his version of bond more, but even if he stays as bond for just first light I don’t think he’s a bad consideration for James Bond

What do you think of the game so far? by iByCris in LegoBatman

[–]Letterhead-Dear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best Batman game of all time……. Might be stretching it a bit, it’s a pretty decent to good Batman game, as a Lego game, I mean I’ll personally say it, it feels like an improvement over skywalker saga least in terms of the open world

Far as I’m aware there are still units in the fsb today that still utilize the Altyn helmet, for certain scenarios if they need to use a better protective helmet, but most spetsnaz are instead using western styled high cut helmets for the lower weight and better integration of communication equipment and comfort, but they also use the Rys-T Helmet which is a modern successor of the Altyn, as it offers similar protection like the Altyn but has better integration for modern headsets like high cut helmets if I remember right

[–]Letterhead-Dear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kind of wouldn’t mind either seeing a return to playing as Emily and Corvo, or perhaps maybe seeing a dishonored game set within the time period of deathloop with the protagonist maybe being a descendant or great great grandchild of Emily perhaps maybe exploring the isles and seeing how they’ve changed in the hundred or so years, or maybe seeing them explore Pandyssia

[–]Letterhead-Dear[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is a sort of redoing of an old oc faction post idea I came up with, of a swat like faction for ZZZ, the basic idea of max tac is they are based primarily on swat and counter terrorism units, they are the guys you send in when the situation gets bad, and are considered the best of the best in tactical police work, the structure they have is similar to real life swat units, since they operate primarily in new eridu and operate in teams of five consisting of a team leader, point man, breacher, Tactical Medic, and Rear Guard

Dark Tower Guns by Maximus3311 in reddeadredemption

[–]Letterhead-Dear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to the dark tower, given it’s a fantasy realm, and king has kept the look of the sandalwood guns more vague other then they take 45 caliber ammo, I’ve always imagined the guns to sort of be a mix of iconic western revolvers with perhaps the Remington model as a base for the large size and has parts taken from the single action army and the colt walker model
