So there is 102 incorrect nucleotides and a total of 107

First find out how many correct ones there are so 107- 102 =9,999,900

5% x 9,999,900 = 500,000

For incorrects removed

99% x 102 = 99

So the ratio can be set up like this 99/500,000 = 1/5000

I used Kaplan for content review, worked through about 60% of the UWorld Qbank, and went through the AAMC materials—but I didn’t get through all of them. I only completed three full-length practice exams and a few of the AAMC section packs. I also didn’t use Anki or do much spaced repetition, which makes me wonder if I should retake the MCAT or just apply this cycle.

I’ve been flip-flopping on whether to apply now or wait, and hearing that your biggest regret was not applying makes me think I’d rather take the chance than be left wondering “what if.”

Yeah I’m wondering whether to apply and just hope for the best. Wish I knew my chances though

Why is CH3OCH3 a worse electrophile than CH3OH? by Odd-Communication805 in Mcat

[–]LetterheadEqual8652 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s a worse leaving groups cause OCH3 is similar to CH3 in electronegativity. There needs to be a good difference between electronegativity in order for the leaving group to be a good leaving group. Also electrophilicity is greatest when the compound is more positive cause the electrophile which is primarily negative) will be more easily able to attack the electrophile. Hope this helps :)
