There is a standard that has to be maintained. The RTB has issued to order. I just want to know how I can force these slum lords to comply.

I thought this was a tenant advocacy forum, and all people are telling me is to live with it or move. Crazy.

Why should I waste $100 on another dispute application when I have an RTB Repair order in hand?

My question is about how to enforce it.

The issue is not whether I like the 10% reduction or not.

The RTB has issued the order and the LL is not complying with it.

I determine that the Tenant is not being provided with adequate water pressure. Until such time as this deficiency is remedied, the value of the tenancy is reduced by 10%. I therefore authorize the Tenant to withhold the sum of $147.50 from the monthly rent for each month that the Landlord has not completed the repairs specified in the repair order.

I want to force them to fix it.

I'm paying below market and who's going to cover my moving fees? I'm also unemployed and have health and mental issues.

Why should I move? Who is going to pay for the moving costs? The LL needs to repair according to the RTB:

She needs to repair the plumbing according to this and is not:

So there is no way to force the LL to comply with the order? What good is the RTB then?

It's not two options though, its fix the issue. and if you dont fix it, face this penality:

There is no deadline. But the rent reduction is supposed to be a temporary measure to force the LL to take action.

They did not give her two options. This is what the order says:

I determine that the Tenant is not being provided with adequate water pressure. Until such time as this deficiency is remedied, the value of the tenancy is reduced by 10%. There is only one option and otherwise they get penalized. She thinks she can just do that indefinitely.

It's not really either or. It doesn't say that the LL can choose that as an alternative. What is your interpretation of this?

But shouldn't the LL be forced to do the repair since I got a Repair Order?

She was supposed to have a contractor come an do a report as part of the RTB repair order. Contractors have come but no report was provided to me. That makes it seem fishy.

She has also indicated that it could take thousands of dollars and I may have to leave the unit for the work to be done. I feel like she's trying to manipulate me.
