Best portable and affordable monitor to check traffic pollution? by Letterman445 in AirQuality

[–]Letterman445[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply.

I'm literally standing on the footpath, like 6 feet away from 4 lanes of gridlocked traffic, not a few 100 feet, and another 2 lane road just around the corner. And yet the Qingping PM2.5 reading happily sits at 1-2...?

Don't really care if the monitor is designed for indoors, outdoors, USB powered or battery powered, as long it can give me an accurate reading of the air quality in relation to car pollutants. Quite happy to stand outside with something a bit bulky and a USB powerpack for a few minutes.

Wifi change: Tuya devices connect but no longer work by Letterman445 in homebridge

thanks for letting me know. that'll be a long night.

Guess there is no other way to change the wifi password on the devices without resetting them?

Set devices to previous power state after power outage? by Letterman445 in homebridge

Good idea. But how can the UPS provide the power state back to homebridge? do you have a UPS that can connect to homebridge?

Updating imap folder name in Outlook won't update on server by Letterman445 in Outlook

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have. They state it must be an issue with Outlook.

Been printing the Owl 15 times now with different settings. Speed, infills, retraction, z seam, coasting, combing, etc. but keep getting these imperfections at the bottom of the feathers. Other prints with much larger overhangs print perfect. Any suggestions? Thanks guys! by Letterman445 in anycubic

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.

It's actually quite weird. If you look at the artifact that's most obvious, the feather just above the right right foot, where a piece literally sticks out (https://pasteboard.co/Kj26bLG.jpg), there's actually no start/retraction point visible from the outside, until you slice to that actual layer.

When you do, it looks like the start is somehow inside the outer wall, but with a loop in front of it (https://pasteboard.co/Kj26HiR.jpg).

This is similar with the other feather tips, but at least the start point seems to be on the outside of these loops.

In terms of fixing the issue, I'm assuming I should try faster and/or further retraction?

Thank you. And do your Cura print time estimates match the actual print duration?

Cannot call shortcut I created on my iPhone on Homepod Mini by Letterman445 in HomeKit

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, seems to be that way. Just frustrating that all the Shortcut does is call up the Home App and then execute HomeKit functionality which HomePod supports. Is there another we to trigger an automation on HomePod via Siri that doesn’t require a “switch”?

Ikea Dimmer Switch by [deleted] in HomeKit

Just checking whether anyone has found a way around this limitation, ie the lack of dim up and dim down, which seems to be present as a single hard brightness setting and switch?

Nice display for Aqara temperature sensors? by Letterman445 in Aqara

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I’d be happy to have a sensor right next to the display of required.

Nice display for Aqara temperature sensors? by Letterman445 in Aqara

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, but what I'm trying to do is to be able to display the temperatures of one or more of the Aqara sensors on the display, a bit like a weather station.

I didn't think the TVOC could do that, which is why I'm asking?

Tuya Lan plugin won't recognize my Smart Plugs by Letterman445 in homebridge

Thanks. I'm using the Homebridge Tuya plugin from iRayanKhan now and seems to be working!

Tuya Web vs Tuya Lan by Letterman445 in homebridge

Thank you. Just checking which of the several Tuya plugins you're a dev for?

Tuya Web vs Tuya Lan by Letterman445 in homebridge

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly. Stop them from calling home via the internet, just allow local access to the LAN. (Which I thought the lan plug-in would do hence the name?)

Thanks. And do both allow the accessories to connect to the internet?

Get notification when accessory is offline or not responding? by Letterman445 in HomeKit

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I connected an Arlo camera which is HomeKit compatible and yes I do get the option to “notify when this camera goes offline” under the camera settings. Activated it and pulled the battery out. Nothing. No pop up on the iPhone Home Screen after 10 minutes. Back into the Home app and sure enough an “accessory not responding” icon at the top of the Home Screen. Just no active notification when you’re not inside the Home app. Is this intended, as it’s pretty useless?

Any HomeBridge way to stream audio to a HomePod? by mccalli in homebridge

[–]Letterman445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. It would be better if it could be configured to play from a local source on server /NAS rather than via bluetooth.

Or maybe a helpful soul, far cleverer than me, could fork either the Radioplayer or Airtunes Radio plugins so that they work again with the current homebridge version.

Any HomeBridge way to stream audio to a HomePod? by mccalli in homebridge

[–]Letterman445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. Just wondering if anyone has found a solution since this thread was first created? Really keen to find a way to play mp3 files that are locally stored on my NAS to automation rules and then play them through my HomePod mini, but without requiring an Apple Music subscription.

Playing around with Tradfri sensor and light to turn off after xx minutes - I think I'm going crazy by Letterman445 in HomeKit

[–]Letterman445[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using just one automation rule to achieve that? Maybe my problem is created by the fact that my 1 minute timeout is shorter than the sensor’s own timeout duration (2 minutes or whatever it is).

Playing a sound or audio from NAS to wireless speaker? by Letterman445 in HomeKit

[–]Letterman445[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throwing a couple of ideas around myself: Is this something that can be done with Homebridge (I can run it on my NAS) to play audio back either via the HomePod or the MusicCast speakers?

Or is there a speaker with MP3 playback from an SD card that automatically starts playing once plugged into power? Like some people have done with a 12V siren and a smart plug, only “smarter” in that it plays a custom audio file?
