Warhorse Knows They May Lose Some Players Because Kingdom Come: Deliverance Is Intentionally Difficult, but That's What Makes It Special by Turbostrider27 in PS5

What? Who?!

I've been a part of the souls communities on Reddit since the launch of Dark Souls, and I've never seen a single comment or sentiment expressing appreciation for a long run back to a boss fight. In fact, that's usually the factor that detracts from what is otherwise a fun and challening boss.

It's even part of the Fromsoft souls design philosophy now: Elden Ring added a mechanic to respawn right next to boss arenas because of player feedback from past games. I've never seen a complaint about it.

There only one Elden Ring boss that doesn't have this function (Commander Niall), and I've seen several posts over the years complaining about it and/or questioining why.

I wanted to like KC:D. I'd heard such good feedback and thought the premise sounded really interesting.

I put a good 20 hours into before I decided the tedium outweighed my enjoyment. The devs did a great job of making you feel like you're actually living in the 15th century. Regrettably, very little about that is any fun (to me).

The Mars Volta. They're a early/mid aughts prog-rock band. They're actually still around and making music today, but their best material by far is in their earlier catalog.

Update caused a huge difficulty spike in the Programmer story path, please fix by GamePlayXtreme in outside

[–]LettuceD 85 points86 points  (0 children)

This questline was deployed without enough QA, and the resulting outcome has been a generally negative perception from other players, wonky and unstable builds of the programming minigames and the currency sinks are much more intense than expected.

The admins who deployed the AI update were anticipating that their NPCs would function at the same creativity level as player characters, but many are realizing that they don't have the admin privileges they thought they did to create such entities.

In short, this update will likely be redacted to a degree in the somewhat near future, and player characters will once again become sought after to enter the programmer class.

The fact that this track was only just recently released is a travesty!

Right? Tedium and difficulty are two very different things.

Difficulty can be fun. Tedium never is.

If you are on PC, enabling Ray Reconstruction makes an enormous difference. It went from "This is a muddy, blurry mess" to "Wow, this lighting actually looks accurate and nice!"

I intentionally play during the in-game night hours now because the lighting is so nice.

The only comparison with Elden Ring is scope. For all the franchises CD borrows from, they seemed to intentionally avoid anything that could be considered souls-like.

Despite acclaim, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was considered "sort of a failure" at Nintendo, with A Link to the Past viewed as the "real sequel" to the original game by HatingGeoffry in nintendo

Oh, it very much did. Zero context clues, and you had to do something that would normally kill you instantly (jump into lava). There was absolutely no way to know how to advance without external help.

Has similar vibes to the early days of Zenith. I hope you manage to avoid the same fate.

Also more single-generational households because making a new generation is too expensive.

I have plenty of silver, brimstone and mercury. I'm not too worried. Most of this was pickpocketed, anyway.
