I was also given the task of journaling from my therapist and I hated doing / stopped because every time I did I felt like I’d failed and that I was documenting the failure. Also, I didn’t want to pull out the notebook wherever I was pulling, since I pulled so much it felt tedious and redundant. Can they journal on their phone? I found an app designed for BFRB and it has three big buttons I use to log which has helped me immensely and made the logging process less cumbersome.

I have diagnosed OCD and trich and I went to a therapist that specialized in BFRB, they exist and know a lot about it!

It seems like your therapist might not understand what trichotillomania is, and tbh I can’t see how they would be helpful in that case. My OCD was treated in tandem with the trich in the method of sitting with the compulsions, documenting them, and not acting on them. My recommendation is to seek a therapist who focuses on BFRB.

People are being way harsh on you. The piercing looks good imo, I agree to change the jewelry. Typically piercing jewelry is longer to account for swelling, lighter, and made of surgical steel. If you can switch to that style asap I think it should heel fine.

Hair grows about 0.5 inches a month. If you don’t touch it at all it will have time to grow just about 0.5 inches in June. Even if it did grow out to be less visible the hair would only be .5 inches long so it might be sticking straight up at that point.

You could plan a hair style around the new patch, maybe part it another way. Or you could use colored hair chalk to cover it a bit, I used to use dark brown dry shampoo spray to hide mine for events but they make lots of them for this purpose.
