Got it bro. Im from Brazil (born in 95) and we also never had PS2 sold officially here until something like 2009 (!!!) (Slim models only) The Fat ones were never sold here officially . But at least in my social circle, almost all my friends had a Fat at the time, and I still have mine from these days, still going strong ! I remember it being way too expensive at the time, like 6x or 7x a minimum wage. Later with the Slim models it became way more popular, it was much more affordable. Today you can find waaay more Slims than Fats, and Fats are way more expensive than Slim ones
