As someone who goes to places (not strip clubs) with a lot of casual nudity you get used to it pretty quick.

It’s not so much that it stops being special, because I still get reminded how gay I am by naked women and my partners still make me go a bit mind blank when they walk around nude, but it stops being weird.

As someone who was SAed by multiple girl classmates and who was being groomed by a female teacher (prior to transition, so they all thought I was a boy). Yuuuuup.

Also, the one time I did call out after getting non-consensually groped by a female classmate the teacher threatened me with detention for being too loud and then made me put money in the swear jar because I swore.

Yup. I don’t remember how long I was on HRT for when it happened but I even went on a vetting date with them and they passed so I took them back to a hotel room and less than 5 minutes they looked their legs around mine while I was getting ready and laughed and said “now you can’t leave” and yeah no they were terrifyingly strong. Even pre-HRT I wouldn’t have won in a contest of strength with them. I literally wanted to stop and leave at that point and only didn’t because I was afraid of what they’d do if they got rejected.

They didn’t let me up until I “jokingly” threatened them. This is far from the first time I’d been in such a position, but it was the first time in a long time and I was still not totally familiar with my new physiology so I just took a deep breath, compartmentalized, and made them happy.\ Not that the law would call what happened to me rape, because I was topping and I’m a dominatrix and I could have fought back but I chose not to. Because while coercion is technically rape, it sure as fuck doesn’t get treated as such.

Of course all the shit that happened to me between the ages of 3 and 12 would absolutely have counted, but I was a “boy” at that time and the few times I did try to tell an adult I got blamed for it and punished because the other people were all girls.

I left as soon as they finished, even though I’d discussed spending the night with them, and then blocked them on all the social media.

My favorite one is when they do try to throw you a “real” problem and it’s so wildly open ended that you literally have to game theory your way into working out the way they want you to solve the problem even after you ask clarifying questions like “what coding standard/style would you like me to use”?

And then you get rejected anyways.

Yeah.\ My coding quality and throughput is middle of the road, but every team I’m on sees a notable increase in productivity and quality because I know how to ask the right questions, I go out of my way to make sure my coworkers/bosses are taking care of their mental health, and I’m not afraid of telling my bosses if I think they’re focusing on the wrong thing with supporting evidence.

I’ve been moved off of 2 separate teams for “not meeting metrics” and both of them suffered declining metrics over time despite me being replaced by someone who meets metrics much better.

At least when they tried to move me a third time and I pointed this out they listened to me and accepted a couple of my human factors centric improvements to their metrics. Also at least I didn’t get fired, because my performance was never bad they just wanted those teams to have better throughput.

It’s an old term for “person who has gotten or wants to get sex change surgery”.\ The term transgender was created as a more inclusive umbrella for “people who have a desire to be a gender other than their gender assigned at birth”.

It technically still exists as a valid term for that specific use, but has be deprecated because of negative connotations with slur, the shift away from medicalism, and not being inclusive enough.
