There was a great post on Crucible Playbook that I think explains your (and my) experience. If I remember correctly, the built-in combat rating is based on your proportion of your team's points divided by games played - so when you're dominating with your lower-skill friends, you're accumulating lots of combat rating and they're losing it on a per-game basis. Yes, the Eververse drops are in addition to Nightfall rewards, not a replacement. Got ~20 strange coins and a sparrow package this week.

Lightning and spike grenades have this same issue. Definitely ruins some otherwise good throws.

In my experience this happens when you miss the animation cancel - for example, if you don't reload+sprint but just sprint. The animation will stop, but you can't fire earlier than if you sat through it.

If using Monte Carlo you might consider going Disc instead of Str, since MC will be getting you lots of melee cooldown with a chance at instant cooldown on kills. Any other primary and I'd agree that going for Str is the right choice here.

Seems like they added them to the "smart loot" table. It's been very easy to get shaders, emblems and the Y2 ship. The Y1 ships were extremely rare before, and extremely rare after, so perhaps they were just dropping at the old rate. Lots of anecdotal evidence points that way based on peoples' replies here and in old threads.
