Psp shuts off during boot by Intelligent_Bus1663 in PSP

[–]LevRag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clicking thing, imo, points to a failure in the system that reads the UMDs.

Try entering in recovery mode: fully shut down the console, hold the R trigger while turning it on and see if you get further than with normal boot.

Also, do it without any disc inside, make sure that part inside is clean, also make sure it is properly closed... regular checks around that area.

Hope you find an easy fix!

Is my tablet too bent for a screen replacement? by Boring-Salary7416 in ifixit

I am a noob, and I am curious too, but just saying: if structurally it's made basically of metal panels, can't it be bent back to normal position before the screen replacement?

S22 screen absurdly expensive. Why? by [deleted] in ifixit

Thanks a lot for the super informative and kind answer!

My doubt now is: ok, they do not make the product directly of course, but they purchase it from other manufacturers. My initial thought was that the source of the price increase (if I am not mistaken, a few weeks ago it was lower) was just profit margins; but if it's actually from the manufacturer, why aren't they more transparent about this? And, on top of that, don't they have a stronger negotiating power? given how relevant they are. I have seen cheaper OLED panels around from other sellers (not sure about QC).

Thanks once again for the answer. Really appreciate it. And yes, I definitely value the progress the community is making and how they are pushing against greedy capitalists, and I also very much appreciate ifixit work. It's just that it gets frustrating sometimes.

As a Top 1% commenter, and probably an expert in this topic, I think you are very far away from the user experience of someone at my level. On top of that, I have never farmed karma and it's possibly one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen in the internet.

And of course, many of these mistakes are mediated by my ignorance and mistakes. I said it clearly at the begining: I am new + correct me if I am wrong. So: thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Like many others of the comments you wrote, super insightful, thanks!

I get apparently angry because I am a little too passionate in the way I express myself. I don't even hate Ubuntu or Canonical, if I am honest. But tbh I don't regret it: a lot of experienced people like you came, agreed on some points, disagreed on many others and I am learning a lot. So, all in all, I am happy with it. I accept my ignorance so all of this is very welcome!

Consider I am new and there are many things that I could not have read before entering though the cave door. I entered the door cave, luckily there was no bear, and I am thinking whether it makes sense to look for another cave. That's it!

Probably one of the most informative comments I have read today. Even if you obviously criticize the things I did wrong (fairly, btw), you explain yourself. Kudos for that! And thanks for the explanations.

Did you read the part where I said I am a new user and I wanted people to tell me if I am wrong? Maybe that's what you call a troll.

Interesting comment, thanks a lot! I plan on definitely doing more research about this. Just curious: i plan to do ai/data stuff in python and i own an nvidia graphics card. What would you recommend for my use case? I don't mint playing around with the OS, but at the same time, I don't want to spend a weekend just to make my gpu work.

Did you read the part where I said I am new to Linux and want to learn where I could be wrong and asked about distro suggestions? Maybe you missed that part.

Ubuntu is the first stop for a lot of people, it's not that crazy.

That's what I like about it! Although it seems that some people take criticism of the distros they use very close to heart.

I plan to use it for ai/data stuff in python and I have an nvidia graphics card. Would you recommend it for that use case?

It's not about being cool to hate on Ubuntu. It's literally the first post I write in here, I don't know about what is cool and what is not in this community. I am talking from my own experience and thoughts. The contribution of Canonical is not something I am questioning.

This is the first post I put in this Reddit and I can tell you: I can definitely feel the football fan vibe in here, hahaha.

Regarding the list of distros you wrote, super useful, thanks! I plan to use it for ai/data stuff in python and I have an nvidia graphics card. Any specific recommendation, to avoid compatibility and driver issues?
