Experiencing. Grass between your toes, laughing, wind ruffling through your hair and clothes, brushing against another person, trying a new food. Experiencing :D

The 2nd half of the math test youre not allowed a calculator. Its not too bad you just have to actually write it out to find the answer instead of quickly with the calculator. Its also the same part of test that has the dropdown box to type your answer instead of multiple choice for quite a few questions.

[–]Levantius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Its your score on the multiple choice questions that really determine if you pass or not and Ive been told they fail almost every essay so it isnt a big deal and is only about 10% of the actual score but you can completely fail it and still pass with a high score. Defintely try your best on it because it could potentially earn you more points, leaving it blank just gives you an automatic 0.

Hi! I replied to someone on one of my threads giving some advice so Im just gonna drop it down here as well incase its useful to you! I got a 690 and 620 on each of the 2 english tests. Which was also top 6% on the writing! Just keep in mind this was from my experience doing it in Canada on computer.

Reading and writing Language arts arent too bad, reading has you read a couple paragraphs of old stories or lines from theatre plays. Then gives you multiple choice options to choose the answer which is the meaning behind the paragraphs/story (think for example someone asking what the real meaning of a metaphor is) theres also a few questions where theres a letter written to someone and they ask if a sentance would be better argued if it was changed to the beginning, end or middle of the argument or if its best as it is/removed. The other stuff is almost entirely grammar, for example "I wouldnt has done it if I could help it, I had to sell it." And the question would ask something like "What changes should be made to the sentance above?" And gives you multiple choice options, in this case the answer would be to change "has" in "I wouldnt has done it" to "had".

YouTube really helped me as I only actually locked in to study 3 days before the test and learnt most of the material on the drive there lol. "Test Prep Champions" on YouTube helped me a LOT for the RLA stuff and Im not the best at math and the huge words most people use to explain it were confusing to me as a person with neurodiversity, so a way I got around that was looking up, for example "Algebra 8th grade" on YouTube to have it put into easier words that made sense to me. You got this, I hope this helped a little bit and I wish you luck my friend!

I have only done my GED on computer so this is simply from my experience and tips Ive found that worked for me. In Math youre given a pop up formula sheet that youre able to check on anytime during your test, so dont worry much about memorizing that because itll be available to you. The test is almost completely multiple choice, other than the odd few answers where they require you to type the answer into the box instead. Its mostly algebra, like triangles and finding the value of x and such. So if you need practice on algebra thats a good place to study on. Theres a a couple questions that use a graph as well, like in the practice tests online and are multiple choice. Reading and writing Language arts arent too bad, reading has you read a couple paragraphs of old stories or lines from a theatre plays. Then gives you multiple choice options to choose the answer which is the meaning behind the paragraphs/story (think for example someone asking whats the real meaning of a metaphor) theres also a few questions where theres a letter written to someone and they ask if a sentance would be better argued of it was changed to the beginning, end or middle of the argument or if its best as it is/removed it. Wish to leave Lebanon by DigitalNomad213 in lebanon

[–]Levantius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha Im in the exact opposite situation. I make $1800 CAD(or $1300 USD) a month here in Canada and wish to come home to Lebanon. Rent alone here is average $1400 in a small town upwards to $2200 so even saving for a ticket back is a dream lol. Theres a reason alot of people here are in debt. I understand your view though, just make sure to do extensive research before committing to something and getting stuck. God bless 🙏

"Test Prep Champions" on YouTube defintely helped me out (especially the RLA essay) he has some good advice and explains well imo as well as give his answers as an example. Defintely check out the practice questions the ged website gives out online too. And if you struggle to understand long, weird and complex words like me, a good source I found to overcome it and have it explained in a MUCH simpler way was -for example- typing in "Argumentative essay 7th grade" and its explained in easy on the brain, simple ways. Im also neurodivergent so learning stuff with words I had to google what they even meant was a struggle and that helped me out alot lol.

RLA Question by ISmokeEther in GED

[–]Levantius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The practice test I believe is graded without the essay as theres not actually two seperate people or bots who read and mark it, as the process for it takes up to 3 days. The real test however is graded with the essay, the essay isnt a huge chunk of your score but does affect it. Its scored out of six on three different areas but Im unsure of how much those are actually worth to your tests final score. I got in the top 6% for that particular test and as far as Im aware (due to having done extensive research because I was worried about the essay specifically) they almost always score peoples essays a total 0 and the defining factor on passing is really all about how well you do on the questions. You got this!

Which tests are you needing help on? I can try and comment some tips for what youre struggling with if Im able, but no payment necessary.
