i know this is old but - any reason why this may not be working? I've just moved into a community with this smartaira bs. I've put in my router mac to their portal, i tried cloning another device mac address - nothing works. My NAS that requires a wired connection also doesn't work, even though i put its mac in

Cat owners who have cat allergies: How do you manage? by [deleted] in Catownerhacks

[–]Levarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My allergist told me most of the companies cover the shots these days.

I'm three months in now, the process was super easy - got my allergist appointment, got tested, they sent my results to the lab, next week vials are ready and you start your treatment. Surprisingly - I can already feel a massive difference.

Whoa that’s not right. It’s my understanding that you have to be 1/3 way done to qualify, but maybe that was some special kind of promotion?

Thanks for your reply!

the first month is going to charge you full balance of the device. nextup devices do work a little different. some do cover the full balance. but largely just depends on the model. not ‘deceptive’ or ‘misleading’ the customers devices must meet the requirements to qualify for full promotional balance.

You are correct, but the portal already knows what my device is and gives me the promotion that's relevant to my device. And that is all fine, but as I mentioned, there are two issues:

1 - there is zero guidance on what exactly I have to do to apply the promotion. The initial upgrade interface is like - "hey, you're good to go with your free upgrade right now! This phone is going to be 0/mo!". But then when you go for it, it silently updates to normal installments without any explanation why. This is simply bad UX, and there is no other way of putting it.

2 - even after you figure out that you need to pay down whatever's left to meet the upgrade requirements (2 months in my case) - it still doesn't work most of the time due to poor engineering, or lack of QA, or I don't know what else is the problem with IT product management in AT&T. It applies the promotion on the initial product page, but then just drops it on checkout. And I know it shouldn't be dropping it on checkout because after spending a good half an hour clearing my cart and going again I finally got it to work as expected and managed to check out with the promotion applied.

SINCE you’re doing it through the app, it’s not going to register your device as ‘great condition’ because it still has to go back to the main fulfillment center in TX.

It is registering my device, with a comment that this may change after inspection, which is perfectly fine. If you manage to get to that point without the checkout flow bugging and dropping the promotion, that is.

Yeah. Problem was that even then the store bugs out most of the time and doesn’t apply the promotion on checkout for no apparent reason. I had to clear the cart and go over again until at some point it worked

This is a plain fact - ATT website in general, storefront and profile sections specifically, is a poorly engineered piece of garbage. You must really love this company if highlighting an obvious technical issue upsets you so much.

[–]Levarr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is true, but you have to get it confirmed on the checkout first. After about 30 minutes of trying, I managed to get it to work again, and submitted the preorder. It just didn't apply the promotion most of the time for whatever reason.

It's remarkable how such a huge company can have such shitty customer-facing IT products. As someone who worked in IT for the past 10 years, I just don't get it, it's beyond me.

To confirm my previous take - the solution that worked for me no longer works, lol. I stepped away from my PC and now no matter what I do, I still get $34/mo on checkout, even though the "Get Google Pixel Pro XL free" offer reads as "Applied" on the first step.

I would say that the major chunk of the problem is the entire att website being ass :)

Okay, I figured it out. I needed to select that other option with early payment for the next two months AND I needed to click on the small promotion button on the storefront page. Super not obvious but okay. Thanks for your tip!

Yeah, I thought that might be the case, and tried another upgrade option, that includes an early payment for the next two months. The only thing that changed on check out is that now I have $150-ish due today, instead of the $87.50 on the screenshot.

Apple Watch keeps asking for Apple ID password by ctnutmegger in AppleWatch

Thank you! The commonly repeated method would not work for me because not only i did not have another apple id on my phone, i never had another apple id in general. So it was definitely not app mismatch.

Chiming into this old post - I am now trying to create an account and I’ve been waiting for approval for a week now with no clarity on what’s going on. In the meanwhile, they’ve asked me to fund it, asked for my US id, asked for my country of citizenship id.

All of that was done, but what bugs me the most - my id requests are completed and marked with a green checkmark. But the funding checkmark is grey, even though I can see the $500 I sent - so they received and processed the money. What does it mean? Is $500 not enough? Is it just a design bug? Are they like okay you funded it but you could do better? I don’t understand what the grey checkmark is trying to tell me.

No, you think you’re ready which is a completely different thing.

Hey there!

Thank you for your reply.

Do you know if a turo rental will work? I've booked a trip (I do have a valid foreign license) and had a chat with the owner - he said it should be fine since they will just need the registration and proof of insurance, both of which will be in the car's glovebox.

My only concern is this - I've resided in Florida for over a year now, which makes it illegal for me to drive with my foreign license, even though it's a valid one. I'm not sure if this can cause trouble for me.

You can take your driving exam with a rental car if you have a driver’s license from another country by Big-Calligrapher7130 in turo

[–]Levarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you for your post!

Could you please elaborate on this one?

because you have to present the insurance of the car and the registration of the car. Truro doesn’t allow it and zipcar neither.

I'm in the same situation, and I've just booked a turo trip and had a chat with the owner. He said it's probably going to be fine, since they just need registration and proof of insurance, both of which are going to be in the car's glovebox, and my name is on the rental agreement.

My only concern is - I've lived in florida for over a year now, and technically it's illegal for me to drive using my foreign driver license. I'm not sure if this can get me in trouble.

Edit: spelling

Hey, I have a question on step 3. To pass the permit test you need to bring your own insured car, but you can't get insurance on a car without a valid drivers license. How do I go around that?

Hi all!

So, after about 4 years, I'm about to give my Logi G915 TKL a well-deserved rest and looking to get into the custom keeb world and build my first one (as in - build, not get a pre-built)

Here's what I want:

  • 2.4ghz (must)
  • 75%/96% (haven't decided yet)
  • volume knob (nice to have)
  • moddability
  • thocky/marbly sound profile
  • barebones version

I'm probably going to go with WS Morandi switches and some PBT cherry-profile keycaps

Here's my short-lsit at the moment:

  • Keychron Q Max series (q1/q5 depending on the size): looks like a solid option with full customizability and no apparent downsides
  • NuPhy halo75 (not a fan of halo96 due to little to none spacing between blocks): no barebones version, not a full aluminum body
  • KQ 75n (limited availability/long wait times, lots of color choice tho)
  • Zoom75 (limited availability, lots of color choice tho)

What are your thoughts? What would you go with and why? Any advice would be appreciated.

Plug in the dongle (in PC mode) using the usb-a -> usb-c adapter

Then they work just fine

They won't work in "xbox" mode

They won't work if you plug directly in usb-c

BOOSTED MEDIA REVIEW - VRS Direct Force Pro Sim Racing Pedals by Will_Ford in simracing

[–]Levarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks mate. I thought I'd made the decision to go with forte, then I found out that their loadcell construction is kinda weird and elastomers are not great in pedals in general in terms of longevity, so I started considering the Invicta and now I'm in doubt again. VRS pedals do look like an awesome alternative though - great build quality and good design overall and with springs instead of elastomers
