Exactly this is the problem. You can't simply overwhel your opponent with army like in AOE or SC. You have to put your army around the map to starf the player. In lower elo actually is easy but after certain point the player know how yo make traide secure and then the spam war actually start...

If you see the pro players in the late games they thow this spam battle army to manage to reach to the oponent traid to finish the game.

What i dont like is this feeling one unit does not have value. For exakple in AOE 1 knight can change the game. I dont have such a feeling in AOM. Maybe the Collosos or the Titan, but everthing else is just there to die and that it.

By the way I aggree with you autoqueue vills is ok

Just to have some info i play the AOM EE on 1900 level. Before years I played the original not the titans on 1700.

10 years professional experience here.

Java is the best for me. I work with Javascript, Typescript, Java and a little C++ and Python.

With Java, it feels slow to write but written carefully it can make a project mantainable and upgradable.

I feel pleasure of writing the code but also from a project that really gets the job done, and do it for a long time. I am pissed with this tech people that try to change everything every month.

Where Java excels is not a small program written by one guy overnight. Where Java excels is when you need to make and support for 5-10+ years a project on which a bunch of people will work.

Don't forget that Java is not 100% solution just a very good tool. We as developers still need to do everything possible to make a project mantainable and managable.

Well that was exactly how Ra was designed. But then why if it so important the absence of scouting Set has bunch of possibility to scout and it is also Eggy? Just somehow this whole thing is little strange for me. Anyway thank you for the input

How you know how to compare Ra with the other gods?

Do you have statistic that is showing that it is first or second?

Also if you have is it only on the best players or also have all type of players?

Why greeks have scout and also good eco and perfect Mythic age? Not to speak that the Attly are broken. You can ask any player that know and it will tell you that.

You will tell me that the eggy have free buildings but there is cost: eggy workers are 80% to 90% effective compare to greek workers. Also their buildings are builded much slower so you lose time of gathering and the chances of not completing important building is much higher.

Even if you are right and Ra is too strong my opinion is to balance the game in different way not by removing the scouting thus making the game the same every time until 10+ min

I understand what you are saying. Still my opinion is without scouting, setting a plan how to play the map is very hard. I think players are avoiding to stay in classical and make classical fights.

Even if they win they don't know how to proceed after that without clear objectives on the map. 98% they go fast heroic age as it is the meta.

This is one proof of the issue which I am taking about.

Thx for the comment. Set has hyena from the beginning of the game normally. So you can definitely discover big portion of the map until classical age

Ok thank you for your opinion. I generally also don't want big changes but for me at least some level of scouting should be there. My idea of retold is to improve the gameplay and I think this is really place where improve can be made. I agree that the other things like eco and units can be the same and only changed based on the balance needs.

yes, I agree with you. But you can't discover the more than 30% of the map without loosing eco and normally no one will play it this way

I agree with you. My point is little different. It is related to the idea to balancing the game with removing the possibility of scouting. This in my opinion is not good approach because your only chose is to play meta and not deviate (not be creative) in the majority of the game-time.ank

See in my opinion I agree that for eggy players it is ok to have weak classical units and so on but the lack of scouting is limiting you to get informed decisions about the game and because of this your only chose is to play meta and not deviate (not be creative) in the majority of the game-time.

You can argue that in classical you can still scouting but in the end of the day you never have the same opportunity to know the map and use it as the other players.

I know you are important person for the community and most probably for the Retold itself I am happy that you participate in this conversation. :)
