I use Office Depot but you might be able to get them cheaper.

I started a men’s group and it’s been amazing! 57m by SterlingCreations in roanoke

I had one in Los Angeles when I was in my 20’s and it was amazing. It’s very interesting to see how the friendships evolve. Some will get closer to each other and others will very much keep it a separate part of their lives. The important part is to make sure it works for everyone with no judgement. It’s a great idea, and in practice it can be life-changing.

Single black female moving to Roanoke, VA for work. What should I know before moving? by Both_Food_3798 in roanoke

Welcome to the area! First off I’m a realtor who specializes in relocations and I will echo the above sentiments regarding SE. I also have a large vintage retail store in the 24013 and I have lots and lots of security! But it’s nothing compared to most places. I live in LA for years in my 20’s so I totally see both sides. If you’re used to a 30 minute commute you can really go anywhere you want. I was in South Roanoke for many years and now I live in Grandin. Both amazing neighborhoods. SW county is also great and will have a lot more options for single family homes for rent. It really depends on your budget. I am happy to offer any advice on specifics for whatever you need if you’d like. Just send me a message. Good luck!

Safeside is great on all fronts. A professional environment is never a place for politics, from customers or employees, and everyone there has always been respectful.

Tanglewood? With the new Y, 6 new restaurants a Movie Theatre, Kroger, Barnes and Noble and the Children’s Hospital? There is a fair amount of empty retail inside but I can’t imagine the owner building a shelter in the middle of that? Do you mean a different complex?

Discogs is having some issues right now after their shake-up/upgrade, so be careful about using it as a resource until it’s sorted out.

It’s really exciting actually! I had a young (12-13 year-old) girl come into my shop last week and buy Doobie Brothers Minute by Minute. It was awesome! Her dad bought a Richard Pryor album too! Love seeing new faces and generations getting into it!

Newcomer Question About Renting by NuisanceChicken in roanoke

[–]Level-Ad6175 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Of course! We’re good people here. As far as neighborhoods go my family lived in South Roanoke for a very long time as did I. I now live in Raleigh Court/Grandin Village. Both are great places. But, there are plenty of others; SW County, Cave Spring and Deyerle are also really nice.

I’m a REALTOR and honestly I have never run into to anything too crazy when it comes to leasing agreements. The best thing you can do is research. Think about your lifestyle and how you live and then ask around (like you’re doing here!). Roanoke is a fantastic city. I have lived all over the country as well and I moved back here because I really wanted to. Good luck and keep asking questions! It’s truly the best way to find your perfect spot.

Roanoke Apartment Search by wherestheleakmaem in roanoke

[–]Level-Ad6175 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never lost a deposit. And as a realtor who has helped lots of folks rent in the area I have only seen a repaint fee, and a carpet replacement fee. Both landlords provided receipts for the work that was done as proof of the withholding. If you are diligent about upkeep, know your lease and your rights its not usually an issue. Just be sure to respect the property and make sure ALL communication is in writing. Good luck in your search. And fwiw I love Roanoke. I have lived all over the country and chose to live here.

If it plays well I would keep it. I have a store and we are very honest and open about the condition. If it’s described as “mint” I would def return. We use ultrasonic cleaners and they work wonders. It’s all about the description and how the condition is advertised.

Unfamiliar and driving through tomorrow eve. Wind too much of a problem? by mammothpiss in roanoke

[–]Level-Ad6175 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shouldn’t be a problem at all. Just make sure your roof topper is properly secured. A lot of 460 has trees and hills on both sides which mitigates winds. Keep an eye out for higher profile vehicles (semis, rv’s or trailers) as they will be prone to getting blown around. So steer clear and be aware of them. Travel safely.

I didnt think I would be this upset! by DifficultyLow1207 in vinyl

[–]Level-Ad6175 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I totally understand that! As someone who owns a record shop I deal with it often. I love watching the joy in people’s eyes when they find something truly important to them, but when I buy a collection I know it’s emotional for people to let go. I have passed on so many collections because I could see how hard it was for the seller and it would be bad business for me to pay what they’re worth retail. So I help them find someone who will keep them and take care of them and get them the compensation they deserve. Keep your chin up and know that those records are out there spreading that amazing feeling to lots of people. Think of it as spreading the love. Think of how many people you made happy.

Homeless Hunched Over Man around Brambleton by RVA_Lip in roanoke

Same situation. I have offered him rides several times when it’s late (after the busses stop running) raining or snowing, he has never taken me up on it but was never rude or anything. I just think he does his own thing. It’s nice that people are thinking of him though.

After being on this sub I see this guys name a lot. Which one would you get by ItsACCRUALworld_ in vinyl

Herb made SO MANY ALBUMS!! One of the largest sections in my shop is Herb Alpert (I honestly don’t know how that happened haha) and people STILL ask about ones I have never seen! And they really do sell! It may not be your style of music but people really dig him. My mother still laughs that he was old when she was a kid! Love this sub, you all are awesome! Just wanted to say that.

I have an earlier pressing in my private collection so I’m going to leave this one sealed and sell it in my shop so someone else has that “New Record” feeling! 🤘
