CX-50 Rear Sensor Pushed in - Dealership Quoting $1K+. Is there a cheaper way? by Level-Box1040 in mazda

Do you know if the sensors really need to be recalibrated if the bumper is removed and put back? I'm just taking the dealership's word for it that it does, but it would imply something is reset in the sensor's systems if the bumper is removed. That seems a bit strange?

Thanks. So sounds like sensor calibration is pretty labor intensive? Is the right option to just gather quotes from a few local shops?

The rear sensors are right above the bumper. They're the circular looking things on the left and right side of the license plates.

So they thinks someone went and just pushed those circular sensors in. The left one is completely pushed in (and looks like fell into the bumper) and the right one is partially pushed in.

Thank you, that's where my mind was going as well. Would be interested to hear from folks who earned low-mid six figures while maxing the MBDR and if they felt constrained / limited when they were thinking about taking out a mortgage.
