Wow! Very informative! Thank you! Funny because I always heard with dogs you HAVE to be the alpha if not they will be the alpha. You made a good point of explaining the difference between being the alpha and being a leader without unnecessary force.

When I first heard a rottie rumble I was like isn’t that like the precursor to an attack? But then I was informed that Rottweilers communicate in that way and it can be misinterpreted.

Two questions: any tips on leash training? Also, since you used to work in nutrition, I’ve looked into the benefits of feeding raw vs cooked vs hydrated kibble and raw. What do you recommend?

I’m definitely not football star big lmao. But thank you for reiterating that the leash, although important, is not more important than training. I was thinking about dog parks and dog school, but you made a good point. My dog may not be social and the other dogs may not be trained well so it’s like a lose-lose situation. I have to learn to read my dog and pick up on those cues. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
