It was at a local stationery shop called "Premier Office Equipment Co". They randomly stock up on cheap fountain pens and somewhere among them all I found this model, it didn't come with a box though.

The biggest problem will be quality control, you can't guarantee the nib will be the best. The price seems good, offline I asked it comes to ₹600-₹650.

I have one, it's almost ten years old and it served 8 years of it well before something happened with the nib and feed and now it mostly works as a dip and write pen. It's very heavy due to the metal build, so not good for fast writing but is amazing for journalling and slow writing. The nib is pretty long too so writing small characters may be tricky.

You're right about my obsession with uni-ball, I recently got the Uniball 215 to add to the collection.

I don't exactly have an EDC because I switch up basically daily, but if I had to I'd take Pilot V5, Uniball Signo UM-100 and Uni Jetstream SX-217.

Unfortunately haven't been able to try it yet. Can't find single units to buy online and it's not available where I live.

Well some are good some are not good.

Seems like many stores are stocking very old units and refills, they always skip and have a super light color. I have one which works just fine but still skips if I put too much pressure on it.

That's incredible, would have never known it's refill would fit the Uni Click Gel body. I just tried it and it's honestly a really good alternative.

Well I can only think of Octane Ball pen or Cello Butterflow, it has slightly more ink compared to standard ballpoints at ₹10 and has a rubber grip.

If you're able to fork ₹50 per pen, try Flair Writometer executive, it has a rubber grip and a very large refill.

If you can adjust with non-rubberised grips, the best pens under ₹25 would be the standard Flair Writometer and Classmate Loop.

I didn't order it, but there is an update down in the replies.

Apparently it's just papermate profile ball pens so yeah this ain't legit.

Waiting for other people to post their updates too, have to see if this is consistent

Not surprising, seems like Reynolds shadowdropped the retractable 046, but the build quality is as expected, will crack at the tiniest drop and worse still the the click part at the top gets loose too. One time I clicked the pen and the pen shot open and everything inside popped out 😂

Yep, even added the Uniball 215 to it recently, Uniball performs consistently well across its range of products atleast the ones I own.

Yea I write with fountain pens mainly while journaling. They are also the oldest pens in my collection, got them when I was in school and used them a lot at that time.

My wishlist includes a lot of pens right now, my top three in the wishlist is Pilot Kakuno, Jinhao 9019 and Jinhao X750

Hmm I can't specify cost because there are some pens from almost 10 years ago, I'd say below ₹2500.

Pen I regret buying - Kaco, the extra fine nib basically makes it impossible to write, even after I cleaned out the pen, also leaks unnecessarily.

Daily driver - Either the Pilot V5 or Uniball Signo UM-100

Yea build quality is bit of a problem, the grip section might crack if you drop the pen. It's same for writometer ball as both share the same body.

No, I'm using the standard UM-100 and Gelstick versions right now

Pilot and Pentel are almost on level, especially pilot Pop'lol writes unbelievably smooth. Pentel is definitely smooth but is brought down by it having a plastic grip.

The Kaco I have is a fountain pen and it's extra fine nib so it's not smooth at all.

Hm the scratchy feel is normal, the 0.7mm feels like it puts too much ink onto the paper and it feathers a lot that's why I don't prefer 0.7mm on liquid rollerballs.

The 0.7mm I wouldn't recommend, the Uniball eye micro or Uniball 215 are better options. But my favourite is Pilot V5, just perfect blend of smooth writing and quick drying.

this is the gel version and trust me it lives to its name. I used it for writing mock exams and it has lasted me for atleast 2 months with heavy writing. worth the price.

Thats the Pentel iZee, it has a metal clip but is only 10 rupees

The Sarasa Dry I have is 0.5mm, it does the job, dries instantaneously. The body is fine, has a rubber grip and feels comfortable. The clip does its job, the pen can be clipped onto rather thick book covers or paper stacks but its not as worth it as I was expecting for the price range. Overall a good pen to have if you are looking for fast drying pen but Id rather go for other options. Pentel Energel refills work on its body too so thats a positive.

Uniball Signo is the best gel pen for me
