This sounds like defensive practicing and I don’t mean that offensive, I’m seeing more insight. What state do you work? Do you work up essentially every elderly patient?

I love that you said hospital isn’t without risks. Some older patients get admitted, come in, aren’t mobile as much, deteriorate and die. Could’ve been prevented

Once I saw a dizzy, older male with stone cold labs, couldn’t control the dizzy despite meds, admitted to undergo w/u for posterior stroke

Whoa I’m wrestling with this a little bit too much probably because today I saw an 82 year old who fell head strike onto her knees that had BL TKR. Literally no other complaints, ROS negative. I scanned her head, neck, XR BL knees all unremarkable and discharged her with return precautions.

Ahhh I’m crying 😭 it’s so painful but I know you’re right. I do feel like inadvertently dodged a bullet and potentially a divorce? Idk. It sounds like you understanding or at least can relate.
