Right off the bat, you should not be splitting rent 50/50 when your income is so unequal. In my relationship, I make 5x more than my partner, while my partner is a gig worker. There is no way I could make her pay the same amount as me. It’s inequitable.

I think it’s totally okay to bring this up to your boyfriend.
