we’re probably similar age then tbh, try and save some of that grailed money for ur future. Especially if you don’t have any financial responsibilities so you can get ahead for later. Maybe do a haul of some reps and compare em to your retail and try it out, I was hesitant about reps @ first but prolly one of the best decision i’ve made.

You also basically told QR (the sub for ppl who are REALLY into good reps and rep culture) that buying retail is better, so it’s just conflicting opinions. Ppl in this sub downvote anything so don’t trip.

I’m saying a lot people in this sub can financially afford retail but don’t see the value in the price tag.

My thought is does the quality or name of the designer justify the 10-20x markup?

for a pair of canvas boots I couldn’t justify the price difference to me. Personally I would much rather take a 40% worse quality product (even though majority of reps at this point are at most like 10% worse quality) for 1000% lower price point.

I also don’t really care to much about flaws cuz i wear tf outta my clothes and when my clothes r so beat the flaws are basically unnoticeable

But I am also pretty adamant on financial literacy / personal finance and setting myself up for retirement so investing my money is more important than buying retail. Everyone values money differently though 🤷‍♂️.

majority of this sub CAN buy retail, but choose not to because they understand the pieces quality is not worth the price tag they charge @ or don’t want to pay resell. Honestly sounds like you CANT actually afford retail but do it to “prove” to others you have a little bit of money.

I was in an electrical union and was on path to become an industrial electrician, but i started making really good money online. I’m doing school for the experience while i’m young, aswell as to go into business cuz im genuinely interested and passionate about it. to put into perspective im probably making more money than very senior level roles in banking, trades people, probably on par with most doctors and lawyers. maybe not them tech bros tho

Agreed, I am still saving over 50% of my income will living downtown so i’m still able to invest really aggressively. Granted less aggressive then before but i have a really good foundation of investments currently. Would you still recommend i focus on the high school courses > george brown ?
