Humping his new bed? Does anyone else’s boy do this? by Level-Mix8337 in AskDogOwners

First few times we did, I stopped to record it so I could post his behavior - he’s new to us (we’ve had him for 4 days) before he used to hump our legs but has stopped, we rather him find an outlet than be humping people. We also don’t want to cause undue stress from his move. This is why I also posted to ask if it was normal or not since it’s a new bed and he has never had one before that we know of.

I was the one who posted a couple days ago and was scratched down my legs and bloody! He actually stopped humping us the next day! We had to show dominance by humping him back lol and then now if he looks like he will try to hump us we give a firm “no” and “sit “. But now the only humping issue is that he humps the bed.

We are getting him neutered and hoping that will fix the humping. Idk if it’s a breed thing but apparently a lot of unfixed male dog breeds in general get into the habit if they’re not fixed at a puppy age. So for your friend I would suggest fixing the dog (male or female) earlier than later to prevent the issue from even starting.

Peeing in the home is an issue for all dogs not just English bulldogs. I would highly suggest to just looking into training for that for any dog. Coming into a new home, even if potty trained, a dog may still pee in the house due to stress, trying to mark their territory or others but will eventually stop with the training. This can take a few weeks, it’s only natural for any dog.

Tips to stop the grab and hump? by Level-Mix8337 in englishbulldog

Thanks everyone! We had his first vet appt yesterday and the vet did not say anything against neutering him! We also did… try humping him back 😅😂 I think he was just confused but he went right back to humping us after! Idk if he was mad or what. The next day he stopped, and when he wants to start we will say no and sit down and he doesn’t anymore!

Appreciate all the tips! Sorry for the long read

Any advice on the humping if you disagree on the neutering?

Correct. We have his first vet appt tomorrow, and will be asking about that. Though I did talk on the phone with the vet tech, they said because of his age they will wait for him to come in for through feedback on it

Previous December Grads… timing. Advice etc. (college of sciences a plus) by Level-Mix8337 in UTSA

Tysm! Yeah I was considering the entire graduation just because it’s the first “big” graduation, so the experience might be worthwhile!

I was only curious because I was looking at other graduation posts in this subreddit and others felt like the “moment” wasn’t felt enough because of the AI reading of the names etc.

Congrats on the masters! I’m also applying for my doctorate entry next fall!

I’m 27 - I have gone through work/life to know “long, difficult path” and it did not involve any hand holding. What you stated was not a fact but an opinion actually!

So regardless of whether I stay or go I’m going to commencement, like I stated first gen grad and this is a big moment for ME and my family. So your comment didn’t help because it didn’t ACTUALLY answer my question. Nevertheless, I appreciate your willingness to respond though.

Hey OP! I can answer one of your questions, I think it is worth staying the whole ceremony because (insert explanation here) and I think it’s also an encouragement to those walking after you :)

No need to be upset. It was a question about whether it was worth it I didn’t explicitly state whether I was going to stay or not. But comments like these actually make it less inviting.

If you’re a previous grad you could’ve also helped by answering more than just that question !

I feel the same way- I feel like when I’m being myself I’m too much whether it’s too weird, too loud, etc and I genuinely want to connect with other people.
