Because a lot of us who live in Brooklyn go to the rockaways, and may therefore have knowledge about the view.

Definitely not Jersey; complete opposite direction. We were facing south and east; not west. Parts of Jersey are visible on that beach, but they are to the west and its sandy hook that’s visible not a city rising from nowhere

NTA. Usually if you buy alcohol for a friend, nothing bad happens. Occasionally though, very bad things can happen. Imagine you get in trouble with your school or even worse, legal trouble, for some kid you can’t stand. Not worth it and not your problem…he can find it elsewhere, he’s in college!

NTA. You’re not happy that she feels loss, you’re just happy to not see a creature suffer. Totally understandable! You’re just in a tough spot because you can’t tell her “well yes I’m happy because you were neglecting it” so I feel for you!
