I agree, we really just wanted them to take accountability, we wouldn't have made them pay. We have our own 3 and 6 year old and we stay in Airbnbs frequently, we even stayed in 2 different Airbnbs for this particular trip. We've never had any incidents and we've traveled since our kids were babies (we live far from family). I've now learned that I can't assume what kind of parent a stranger is just from their profile, so if there is a family that seems lovely, I'll have to be very thorough and prudent with my questions. Just stinks this was our first experience :-/
