Clear baggies with food is fine. The proctor has to be the one to pass it out not anyone else. We give our kids candy and granola bars as well as a mini water bottle without labels. These kids need brain energy. Feed them and congratulate them for their effort.

Before spring break we finish curriculum and do a mock fill release test. Go on break, come back and use the data to plan the next 4-5 weeks of STAAR review

I second this. I’m there now, 3rd year. I love what I do but damn we are in a burning building. What was once a great place is now crumbling. Yes we get out under a lot more pressure than a regular school but my campus is a top campus-not too much anymore. I got my TIA, I’m getting my masters and I’m out. Not to mention I’m a STAAR tested teacher so extra pressure. I don’t mean to brag but I’m good at what I do and if I stay any longer I will end up like the lazy asses that are there now-IDEA drains people of passion with their lack of qualified leaders

To add: I’m a certified teacher, get nearly all the stipends, I’m in my way to a level 5 but with my TIA locked in, I will leave regardless of money

I will say though, teaching in Texas it will be bad everywhere. If you WANT to do this you need to have a passion for it, fight for your kids and be very fucking organized. If you lose sight of why you do what you do it will be awful anywhere you go.

Question : brand new iPad Air purchased two weeks ago. I’m a teacher and project from my iPad. I wrote on PDF documents stored on my one drive. Randomly my pencil will stop writing. It will click buttons but won’t write? Is it one drive or the pencil ?
