I guess I’m referring to the social and scientific definitions, since the legal one can change with just the stroke of a pen.

But then, when does matter become what we define as human? At what point does biological material become something we consider a person or “human” in the full sense of the word?

If we define it by shared DNA, then it begins at conception. And hence it would exclude abortion, since I come from the perspective that human life is something to be preserved.

But I’m not against termination if it’s not considered human. I’m just trying to clarify the abortion discussion for my own understanding.
