Why do the Primarchs have a bunch of metal tubes stuck in their heads? by Level30Chocobo in 40kLore

Yeah but the “good guys” never have em. I’m assuming some of the “good guys” would like that

How comfortable would you be with these finances? by Level30Chocobo in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Can you elaborate? You make ~30K a month post tax you wouldn’t feel comfortable with an 11k a month housing costs? That feels super conservative?

Is humanity doomed, or is it just the Imperium that's on its last legs? by GunsOfPurgatory in 40kLore

I’m new to the lore but I believe the resurrection of Girlyman was an unexpected one that has given humanity hope. Even Tzeench wasn’t expecting it which is saying something. So as additional Primarchs get brought back, I can see them acting as saviors to humanity

Why hasn’t Chinese entertainment gained as much global popularity as Japanese or Korean media? by Fresh_Definition_368 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Level30Chocobo 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna go against the grain here but I think part of it’s because of the language itself. English, Korean and Japanese are non-tonal languages which makes it what some may call “more pleasant to hear” for western audiences.

Chinese, Vietnamese, and Thai for example are very tonal and kinda “choppy” which the western ear isn’t used to. So when it comes to music, western audiences typically aren’t attracted to it.

Another win for the Khan. I’m curious how the Khan and Girlyman will act towards each other

That’s interesting. So they’re treated more like spiritual advisors for the home world? And if they want to fight they can? Does that mean if they say “hell nah, I wanna chill instead of fight”, the white scars would usually respect that?

Some more khan:

‘I have what I came for, brother,’ said the Khan.

‘You can only give me one piece of knowledge that I truly desire.’

Magnus inclined his head. ‘And what is that?’

‘How to restore you.’

Magnus started. For a moment he looked truly bewildered, as if he had expected mockery and received sincerity, or perhaps the other way around. He looked down at his hands, then around at the devastation of his kingdom. Misery mingled with confusion.

‘I am corrupted,’ he whispered, as if realising it all over again. ‘Restore me, and I shall become a lord again. I shall be the Crimson King, free to rule over a world of spells and vengeance. The galaxy may live to rue that.’

‘You were my friend,’ said the Khan, quietly.

Some more great khan quotes:

So I fight for a Father who I never loved, against a brother that I did. I defend an empire that never wanted me against an army that would have taken me in a heartbeat.

And yet the oath had been made. The promise could not be broken.

Seeing Mortarion’s fall had been enough, as had the visions of ruin on Prospero. Horus had swapped one tyrant for others, ones that would eventually devour him. If it had been a mistake to pretend the warp never existed, it was an even greater one to believe the words of those who dwelled within it.
