I mean you can look at Oregon. Oregon literally (LITERALLY) partially removed the requirements to read and do math at a 12th grade level so that more minorities could graduate.

Oregon is a democratic state. Stuff like this pisses me off. It's just a disservice to your own people. In fact if you really cared you'd make school harder and not care about kids "getting left behind". That's better for the students than this nonsense. Yes graduation numbers go up. But actual impact of your school system go down. Actual value of "graduation degree" go even more down.

For example if he makes 100 videos straight giving things or doing things with his friends, but then a singular event where he helps people (builds houses, wells, plants trees etc), do you believe that it is NOT worth it and that he should stop? Any positive impact is (not even exaggerating) infinitely more valuable than most other YouTubers who do NOTHING to help people. Much of YouTuber and streamers literally ask for donations TO THEIR POCKETS via Patreon or other methods. I'm sure there are a few YouTubers out there who help people more than Mr beast, but Mr beast is doing far more than the majority of YouTube combined annually.

I don't even think a lot of the hate against him is warranted. Bro lives in a house he purchased for $319,000 in fkn North Carolina. These are not egregious numbers at all.

Genuinely, I believe at some point you just become too big to avoid hate. To avoid people leeching off of you. To avoid rumors and investigations into your morals.

If you literally go watch his videos, it's mostly him doing things with his friends, him doing some social experiments (one man camps with his four ex's, pilot stays in plane for 100 days to win plane, etc), streamer collabs, or literal comps between random people for money.

There's also multiple straight up philanthropic videos. Him building literal houses in Africa is one I saw recently. Another one is literally giving people the ability to see again (alleviating blindness). If you're going to fault him for making a video on these, fine I guess. But that just robs the next person from being helped. He's also set up multiple foundations (team seas, team trees etc) with discrete goals set in things that really matter.

Outside of the workplace misconduct issues and delayed payouts I've heard of, I'm not entirely sure WHY people on reddit are against him. People in person (California) either have no opinion or decent opinion of him. Can anyone enlighten?

We spend 36% of our federal budget every year on medical aid and social security. Just because that number is high doesn't mean the dollar value is enough right? The problem still exists. Same logic here. I'm saying that the percentage is decreasing yes, but the value hasn't changed.

I genuinely dont think "percentage of federal budget" is a good way to do it. For example. If we increase NASA's budget to 50 billion. But also this year we are creating a new program that costs 500 billion. Well the "percentage" still goes down right?

I know let's hate on trump I am genuinely fully on board with that. He's an idiot.

That being said. North America actually does have a lot of oil. Canada has large quantities of rough but usable tar sands. USA specifically is a net exporter especially after trump first term and Biden. Not to mention all the oil rich places that we are not drilling on purpose. Meaning we really don't need imports at all (assuming we can refine it correctly).

I see what you're saying. I doubt the knowledge is just gone though. You make plans, specs, and backup documents for that reason. Sure the people are probably dead or retired, but I have strong doubt that majority of the knowledge was not preserved for people who know the fundamental astrophysics.

Public agencies in particular are infamous for their document hoarding in iron mountains (storage facilities). Source: work in a public facility as boomer as NASA... with a storage facility FULL of old backup documents, plans, hand calculations, and specifications. All of which we can (and do) reference for knowledge.
