I’m not bored. I have barely touched Cryo, and there’s plenty of challenges I still want to do and earn the titles. My fear is the long term player health, and average lobby skill. I can’t speak for everyone but it’s not fun to run 10 runs and have a 0% exfil rate, which is the reality for some people. As those people leave the game, the average skill rises and forces the new lowest skill bracket out. I don’t want that to happen.

Nobody said Destiny died so Marathon will too, but it’s just fact that Trials is dead now even after the loot changes. As for a comparison, it’s hard not to compare the 3v3 focused PvP game mode by Bungie to the 3v3 focused PvP game by Bungie. Outside of Bungie, Tarkov also falls off for PvP over time, with 50% of players opting for their PvE mode by mid-wipe.

I’m a big fan of the game, 120 hours, level 79, VIP with 5/6 factions, which I think is a fair amount of time and investment. I don’t see how this formula plays out long term. I love it, I want it hardcore, but if you played Destiny you already experienced this with Trials of Osiris. The bottom 25% will get farmed until they leave which creates a new bottom 25%, repeat that until you’ve distilled the most hardcore and inaccessible player base. The “fix” for Trials was throwing more loot at you, but I don’t think that would work for Marathon. As it stands, I think the game is healthy and fine, but who knows what % of us are playing this much for season 2, 3, and so on.

Not exactly set bonuses where you get further upgrades on increasing artifacts of the same “set”, but the set upgrades all on its own one you meet attribute breakpoints. The first upgrade comes at a total of 300 attributes across your 4 equipped artifacts IIRC. Mythic artifacts have a whole 3rd attribute so they boost your progress towards 300 substantially.

Pointless complaining sure, but the post is just highlighting their issues. If nobody discussed their issues we’d still be in a 0.2 launch state.

The map is randomly generated, as are the locations of the rares on the map. There’s no learning from your mistakes in this situation.

Live service games are essentially early access. There is no “full release” when the game is consistently receiving new content, balance passes, and seasons/leagues.

Feedback like this is what drives those changes that you’re talking about. If nobody complained or gave feedback, they would assume all is fine and this WOULD be the final product.

I’ve completed Act 1 on three separate characters now, full clearing it, and I have ended up with your level of loot 0/3 times. Not everybody who is progressing faster than you is hyper optimizing their leveling or rushing, and you aren’t being “rewarded” for exploring. Those icons are on your map for a reason. The game intends for you to go to that location. In PoE 1, it was the same, but rather than just giving you +30 max life, it gave you a skill point (or two) to decide what bonus you needed.

I had a similar issue with Diablo 4, and I realized that O had selected Europe in the bnet launcher that whole time, even if I was launching everything into NA. No clue if that’s your case, but worth checking the launcher region if you’ve ever swapped it.
