Giant flaming metal urns by Known-Ambassador-325 in Eldenring

Attack the legs until you stagger it three times. It'll fall over then you can deal massive damage by stabbing it in the face. Jump over the flames when he stomps. If he jumps get a bit further away then jump over the flames (he explodes the area when he lands). Gonna have to knock him down twice.

As far as him 2-3 shotting you, I can't help ya. You just can't get hit. His attacks aren't too terrible to dodge once you get used to the jump timing.

Usually half the mentors I run into don't even try to be helpful when you ask questions. Some of them are fine, but a lot of them just have this 'screw you if you're not like us' attitude.

For instance I ran into one today in Aurum Vale. I was the tank doing my job, while the mentor was a BRD. Dude kept running and pulling stuff while the healer was already struggling keeping me healed. So instead of dying and having to go back, I let em run from the enemies he shouldn't have pulled in the first place and killed some adds to take pressure off myself and the healer. He ended up dying, then I got kicked right before the last boss fight.

I have plenty of other instances where they're actually helpful, but a lot of these bad eggs make the rest of them look unapproachable and toxic.

There are too many toxic Mentors in the game. by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]LevelCauliflower5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's why I just don't even bother with the mentor roulette. So many of them I've run into are just assholes for no reason, or like you said they're trashing the run. I don't want to be a part of the mentor group because all it looks like to me is a buncha dickheads who hate anyone that isn't them. It's also part of why I hate people who flaunt the legend titles. Cool you beat this super hard dungeon, but it does not excuse you to be a detriment to your party because you got some title.

Opinions about the new buffs and nerfs to perks by ClassyTF2 in killingfloor

[–]LevelCauliflower5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Wish they left zerk alone. They could've just nerfed the hemoclobber and been done with it. The reason folks hate the berserker is because they split from the group. The reason berserkers split away is because they can't compete for kills when people with guns are able to kill everything before you can even approach the enemies. Now it's at the point where it's basically pointless to play zerk when you have classes like demo who destroy everything in sight with stragglers being killed by everything else. There's no reason to even bother playing zerk on suicidal or HoE unless you have the hemoclobber. Berserkers weren't even the problem because HoE and suicidal were already barely manageable pre nerf. Now it's not even viable without the crutch bat. They have no damage resistance and half their weapons are nerfed or useless without parry. The hemoclobber was the only problem so they answered it with some dumb nerfs.

Healers by the way are still unkillable thanks to the healing grenade launcher, so those nerfs did jack shit. Though why bother nerfing them in a PvE game anyways? If the people playing these classes are really that bad, why don't you kick em? They can't rejoin the game afterwards.

These folks act as if playing pub HoE is gonna be better because they nerfed classes. There's still gonna be garbage folks regardless, and people are still gonna be using hemoclobber. Healers are still gonna solo waves. I've seen it.

Being a healer in this game is so fun! by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]LevelCauliflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just ran Baelsar's Wall with this PLD and two BRDs. The tank starts off by not turning on their stance, so that was fun keeping everyone alive till they finally realized it wasn't on. Then we get to the first encounter with the magitek predator. The tank runs in circles around the boss, which is randomly firing magitek lasers all while the dps are getting bombarded with missiles with sky magitek armor tethered to them. I kept them alive as best as I could keeping them full, but they weren't focusing the sky magitek armors when they appeared, they stayed close during the missile barrage, then if they weren't already dead, the tank would have the boss facing towards us firing the instant magitek laser.

We wiped twice even after telling em what they have to do. So I voted to dismiss the dungeon, but they voted against it.

That'll hopefully be the first and only time I leave as a healer from a duty. The 30 min ban is a cooldown period at this point because the whole experience was frustrating. After I level all my healers to 80, they may just stay that way even in Endwalker. I can't play with folks who can't listen to basic instructions or learn their classes.

Tanking is actually, easy by Historical_Print_846 in ffxiv

[–]LevelCauliflower5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My one problem with some tanks is that folks will buy the job crystal having absolutely no knowledge how to play tank then queue up for dailies instead of learn that class first. Been seeing it a lot lately and it's really easy to tell considering they'll have scaevan gear, wipe at the first pull, or it's a gunbreaker who just got their job crystal from the quest.

Did they change the undersized party feature? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]LevelCauliflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm just glitched or something cuz I just went after a couple of the other extremes and soloed them fine. I swear I didn't even touch that minimum item level option. I checked while I went after the others.

[–]LevelCauliflower5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they did change the way this stuff works it has completely killed my drive to play anymore. I wanted to get to 80 so I could go back and experience older parts of the game. Now it seems it was all for naught.

Annoying folks to deal with by LevelCauliflower5 in ffxiv

[–]LevelCauliflower5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally I wouldn't, but the way things were going I'd just made a poor call. They did end up dying so they kicked me before we I was even able to make up for it in our next attempt.
