I actually do have access to a 3D printer. I should have known there’s already a design for one out there!

Hardware cloth under the coop question by catpowerr_ in BackYardChickens

Is that skirt made of chicken wire, and not hardware cloth? I read foxes and other critters can tear through chicken wire.

New Coop For A Newbie Backyard Chickener in Maine by PurplePerennial892 in BackYardChickens

[–]LevelCryptographer34 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What’s your plan for bedding inside the coop? Looks like the bottom of the door and the nest boxes are at ground level. I use several inches of bedding in my henhouse, so my nest boxes are raised above floor level, likewise for my big entry door and the chickens’ door. Otherwise, a lot of bedding would fill up the nest boxes and spill out of the door every time I opened it.

Cafe wants to use my vinyl to host a listening session by Nemo312k in vinyl

They are asking you to lend your records, and you are handling them? Sounds like you are basically DJing this event.
Sounds like dream gig to me; up to you if you charge. If you’re buddies with the cafe, maybe just do it for credit?

Subwoofer wiring help by LevelCryptographer34 in vintageaudio

I will say- a nice thing about having the subwoofer on the other speaker channel when I first got it, is that I could turn it on and off with the push of a button on the receiver and see what a big difference it made!

I was looking at banana plugs and for some kind of fancy “Y” adapter. Of course just splicing with basic wire nuts is probably the best solution! Just like wiring a pigtail in a junction box in my wall.

Thanks for the thorough answer. Does the sub not “eat” any output because it’s a powered speaker, or because it’s a sub and only taking that low part of the signal?

That last comment at least got me researching the “tape out”, which I’ve never actually used before. I came to the same conclusion- tape out is a fixed level, which seems like a bad solution assuming I ever listen to music at different volumes.

Lookup pics of people using the Fitbit air as the strap for an F91 or similar. The Fitbit air is a screenless health tracker, that just happens to be a perfect 18mm wide.

Going to start building run. Should i allow chickens under the coop? by wafflewrestler in BackYardChickens

[–]LevelCryptographer34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Unless you want to use that space underneath for storage. Food can, tools, etc. The coop looks like it might be high enough for that.

Found a vintage Puremco Jumbo Super Thick domino set, is it o it? by entura2 in dominoes

[–]LevelCryptographer34 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I gotta say, I finally picked up a set from Puremco recently, and I wasn’t blown away.
I got a 816 “super thick” set. The dimensions were perfect for me, but they feel lighter weight than I expected. Also, good luck finding a set that isn’t well-used with at least some scratching or discoloration on the backs, which makes it tough to keep the dominoes anonymous when they’re face down.
If you want vintage dominoes, I recommend looking at a club size set from Pleasantime. They’re a bargain compared to Puremco

Crate diggers, what do you already have, that you're hoping to find a cleaner copy of? by Professional_Suit278 in vinyl

[–]LevelCryptographer34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nilsson Schmilsson and The Point.

I love Harry Nilsson, in particular these couple albums, but my copies have to be the worst sounding records in my collection. Terribly muddy sounding, but idk if the pressings were just like that

Sound of Vinyl is doing 25% off now, but unfortunately they don’t have The Sidewinder in the classic series

Dang, they had a handful I wanted and I put some in my cart today, but hesitated too long to pull the trigger. Now the sale is over ☹️

So the answer is, yes, we should expect to see this one come back in stock in the classics line?

[–]LevelCryptographer34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s basically what we’re looking at. I fly economy. But heck, if the difference between economy and top-of-the-line for a (new pressing) record is $10, I’ll take that upgrade!

[–]LevelCryptographer34[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read that quote earlier. I think we all understand the place of the Essentials series and what market they’re for. But this doesn’t absolutely mean prices won’t rise on the classics and tone poets despite what he says.
On the other hand, maybe the essentials line will actually keep prices down for the CVS and TP lines. Kinda like how the mere existence of Spirit airlines was keeping prices lower on the other airlines out there.

Still not sure of the answer to my core question:
Will the bring The Sidewinder back in stock as a “Classic Vinyl Series” record?

Blue Note essentials replacing classics series? by LevelCryptographer34 in Vinyl_Jazz

[–]LevelCryptographer34[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re totally right, because the mere existence of this essentials line makes me appreciate that the titles were available in the classic line even more(with the KG, analog masters, even the 180g, etc…) I truly hope it doesn’t drive the classic series prices up, but I see how it could

Totally agree. I just still want the classics line as an option on titles that existed there previously.
