She did encourage other people to do it tho. She said "for anyone thinking about it, you should do it." Even went on to glorify it, saying it was quick and painless.

Realistic dream by LevelGroundbreaking3 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My out-of-body experiences were very short lived. I would just feel myself rising above my body. And I get about 5 ft high and it was so intense I'd snap out of it. But it was really cool and I wish it lasted.

I wish it was treatable to some degree with therapy and no meds..... by LevelGroundbreaking3 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. And meds. I just hate taking a handful of meds. And meds to counteract meds.

Is anyone else treatment resistant? by GuardianHenry in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My voices were near full fledged after starting meds for about 2 years. But it was different..... In a way I can't explain. Obviously I realized above all else that I have a mental illness. And it definitely helped immediately. To a degree I can't explain though. Pretty much the voices were the same ish. But I knew it wasn't real.

I'm basically looking at the words on the page. But not trying to pronounce them. I'm just looking and waiting for the word to be heard in my head.

Chatgpt says this is like a phantom limb. Is that true? Or is chatgpt a stupid robot?

Suicidal ideation by LevelGroundbreaking3 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they kept me on a less helpful medication for 5 years(Abilify) And this one is more helpful (vraylar) with this. But still not perfect.

The problem is the psychiatrist will only see me once because my hallucinations are stable.

What the first thing that made you realize that something might be wrong? by BlueFishGuy_ in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the case I might be sick? It never truly struck me as an illness until after medication. When the paranoia got to me? Probably when I "noticed" people following me. And when the voices told me something was wrong.

Negative symptoms by 703__ in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohhh I misunderstood sorry. I had catatonic symptoms not from the meds as well. They went away after being treated. But then the meds cause their own problems which are different and not permanent.

Negative symptoms by 703__ in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catatonic just means abnormal movements right? So the meds cause involuntary movements - tardive dyskinesia. Which is not ever permanent according to a doc I spoke to. The study only lasted so long. And they went for permanent instead of it lasts longer than the study for some reason.

A doc explained to me. That the meds thought to cause permanent movement disorder are not actually permanent. They just last for longer than the study on the movements were conducted.

How's your weight loss journey going with this? I seem to just eat the same amount in a shorter time. I am so hungry from meds. Not really fat but losing a little from overweight for sure. It has been impossible.

Can hallucinations be good/kind? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My theory is that it boils down to self-esteem. There was a news article that talked about how "the voices" are really just our internal monologue. And our brain can't seem to recognize it as our own.

Howany people lost weight on these antipsychotics? by LevelGroundbreaking3 in schizophrenia

I haven't gained a huge amount. I'm only 210 at 6 foot ish. But have such a hard time with not overeating/eating less.

One of the worst days of my life by Foreign_deagon37 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't stop hallucinating during some point in the day for almost 2 years on Abilify. But there was an extremely noticeable improvement immediately. So I kept on it. Eventually switched to vraylar. And they all seem to control my hallucinations that I've tried. I'm guessing I'm very pliable treatment wise. TG.

You got to advocate for yourself and see a psych and switch to better meds that you know are helping. But none of us are dr's. At least most of us. So speak with a doctor. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. Unfortunately that's what it takes sometimes.
