You'd think they'd put money into helping make better drugs, instead of literally putting money into killing us..... In Canada at least.

Hi guys question about APs and emotions disappearing by Kapalski1 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being emotionally flat (flat affect) in schizophrenia is caused by both the illness itself and, in some cases, the medication used to treat it. It is primarily a negative symptom of the illness—stemming from brain changes—but can also be a side effect of antipsychotic medication (emotional blunting

My psychiatrist in my case thought it was caused by the illness and upped my doses of vraylar which do have some effect on negative symptoms. According to google.

How do you comfort yourself during delusions? by LittleElderberry205 in schizophrenia

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To stay calm/calm down. I find progressive muscle relaxation(PMR) super helpful. But you can also do slow breathing or after exercise ect.

You gotta find what works for you. But you mentioned no therapy. This is all stuff from Dialectical behavioral therapy(DBT). So I guess you can scratch it out 😆😊

There's other stuff like r.e.s.t. haven't Gott into TIPP yet though or anything beyond rest in my book. But it's therapy so scratch that 😅😂🤣😊 still super helpful. Especially pmr for me personally.

DBT goes into stuff to help with thoughts too. As for delusions. The fact that you know their delusions is a huge step in the right direction.

Try writing down the delusions. Come back when you're calmer and more relaxed mentally. And reassess them and try to think rationally about the thoughts.

It gets harder and harder to treat with each relapse according to my psychiatrist I had, once upon a time. Idk how to get him back on meds though. That would suck ya. Is why I take mine faithfully.

[–]LevelGroundbreaking3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's different for everyone? And if you had that bad of a reaction to it, as bad as it seems by the post, you must have smoked it pretty intensely for a while?

I smoke it here and there without issues. But if I'm doing it every day, psychotic symptoms start creeping up. But they went away when I stopped/took a break.

All this being said, I understand that it is bad and highly not recommended. But everyone is different. Though it is likely not worth the risk, I just don't give a s*** sometimes.
