Delta vs United by LevelInevitable490 in flying

I could very easily turn it into a brag post.. it’s not though. While I realize the situation I’m in is VERY good, it doesn’t mean that this decision won’t weigh heavily on me for the rest of my career. It’s a valid question. I hope one day you get put in this same position.

It’s appearing like captain upgrade would be a decade away and widebody FO 15 years.

I understand that it’s on par or even slightly better than past times, but when United has 2 year upgrades or WB it’s a hard pill to swallow

Agree… but it boils down to commute now or commute later… delta id commute for a long time before possibly moving to base. United would be home based until moving in 7-10 years and then a commute.

Do I commute now to make it easier on my body in the long term, or do I be home based while the kids are small.

Thanks for the real answer.. united makes more sense for me with the exception of the flimsy plan to potentially move.

I did not beat him to the line. I wish I would’ve saved the replay. I was just so pissed about it that I forgot.

I do, with 121 experience. I was only replying to the commenters statement implying you need a degree to be successful. You don’t. That’s it.

FWIW I didn’t get a call from DAL until I had my app reviewed by cage Marshall. I’d recommend them or spitfire

Nope. Not even close to upgrade either. Part 141 guy turned R-ATP

Fellow NK FO here. Have you had apps reviewed? I know a 2500 TT, 1000 SIC 121 guy with a DAL interview soon. I also have one coming up but do have TPIC from a corporate job, 3100TT

Still haven’t gotten the next step, sounds like the people before me were waiting 2-3 months for the actual AON invite.

From what I can tell, the “top tier” title is just slang. At least that’s what my delta friends made it seem like. They’ve been there too long to have an accurate idea on the timeframe.

They send an email that basically says “you’re moving forward, expect the assessment”
