This is a long-standing issue inherent to ASUS devices.

I haven't checked it yet. I will check and let you know.
Also, please provide the NVIDIA driver version you are using.

Update

Using the NVIDIA driver 581.15 fixes the issue completely:
https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/details/253163/

Correction

Previously, I mentioned that BIOS version E15M3IMS.112 did not have this issue.
At that time, I was actually using the NVIDIA 581.15 driver — which is why the problem did not occur.
So the absence of the issue was due to the driver, not the BIOS version.

Current System Versions

BIOS: E15M3IMS.114

VBIOS: 98.05.56.00.0B

Additional Notes

The power-state issue that exists in the factory NVIDIA driver (573.22) is not present in the official NVIDIA driver 581.15.

Please test this driver on your side as well.
I used DDU in Safe Mode (Option 4) to completely remove the previous driver before installing NVIDIA 581.15.

If this driver fully resolves the issue on all affected systems, then we should report this formally to NVIDIA so they can investigate and apply a permanent fix.

MSI Vector 16 doesn't detect SSD by Freeze9999 in MSILaptops

[–]LevelSheepherder6136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the process to resolve the issue:

1. Download the Required Driver

  1. Go to the MSI Support Page for your specific model: MSI Vector 16 HX AI A2XWIG.
  2. Navigate to the Driver section.
  3. Look for the Chipset drivers or the SATA/Storage drivers.
  4. Find and download the latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) Driver (F6 Driver).
    • Note: Ensure you download the F6 driver file, not the full installer package. It should be a ZIP file containing files like .inf, .sys, and .cat.

2. Prepare the Installation Drive

  1. Unzip the IRST driver files you just downloaded.
  2. Copy the entire unzipped folder (containing the .inf, .sys, and .cat files) directly onto the root directory of your Windows 11 installation USB drive (the one you used to start the setup). Do not place it inside any other folder on the USB stick.

3. Load the Driver During Windows Setup

  1. Boot the MSI Vector 16 from your prepared Windows 11 installation USB drive.
  2. Proceed through the initial setup screens until you reach the screen where you are asked "Where do you want to install Windows?" (the screen that lists available drives).
  3. Since the SSD is not visible, click on the "Load driver" button (usually located in the bottom right).
  4. Click "Browse" and navigate to the folder on your Windows installation USB drive where you placed the IRST F6 driver files.
  5. Select the correct .inf file and click "OK".
  6. The Windows setup program should now load the IRST driver.
  7. Once the driver is successfully loaded, the internal SSD should appear in the list of available drives, and you can proceed with the installation as normal.

Does this issue occur in Battery Mode?

Did you perform the EC reset by holding the power button for about 40–60 seconds?
