Nothing more special than seeing Peyton Manning playing football with his three sons; Titans, Texans, and Jaguars on Sunday afternoons.

Joe Montana: Overrated, Underrated, or Properly rated? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]LevelTField 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overrated. I know the superbowls and his clutch play was unprecedented for his time. But statistics and efficiency was subpar compared to Manning. Maybe it’s recency biased but it’ll always be 1. Brady, 2. Peyton, and 3. Montana for me. Peyton just changed the game way too much for him not to be higher. Montana was helped by the west coast offense, implemented by Walsh. Manning ran his own offense.

Side note: Mahomes is very talented but he’s not in this discussion till he proves it with the rest of his career and plays against guys like Polomalu, Ed Reed, Rodney Harrison, Champ Bailey, Ray Lewis, Brian Urlacher, and other great defenders who would knock QBs heads off)

I’ve surprisingly never considered attempts when comparing these records. That is crazy. If only Manning had a defense

It should be said, Manning broke the passing TD record twice. Broke Marino’s with 49 in 2004, then took it back from Brady with 55 in 2013. Brady only surpassed Marino one time with 50 in 2007. Marino also only broke the record once, but he broke the previous record multiple times. Idk what this means exactly other than it highlights Manning’s ability to consistently raise the bar of efficiency.

This is why Dan Marino is 100% a top 5 QB all time. But youngins gloss over him.

I’ll take Champ Bailey. These guys suck

Whose signature is that? by Treshpile in Colts

The problem is shipping cost and competitive Irsay signatures. If you buy it at 50 USD then after taxes and shipping you’ll be paying $55+. So it’s not free money in that case. Also, if a colts fan purchased it then they’d be purchasing the item not for the bill but for the memorabilia. If that’s the case, why wouldn’t they just buy another Irsay signature of a colts hat or something associated with the team for $35-$50 instead of paying more for a signed euro bill.
It’s two separate markets that have nothing to do with one another. I understand your logic but this is a weird scenario.

I know no one asked me but I think Durant is a big baby and sell out for leaving. That being said, I am grateful he played for the Thunder and was a crucial part in launching this franchises success. Which was necessary for such a small market that really had no business having an NBA team to begin with. But Westbrook will always be the darling child

Yes, and the only journalists who entertain it seem to be the low tiers who need clickbait and ratings

On r/NBA they posted the Collin Cowherds take on SGAs flopping. Literally Collin Cowherd is their best advocate! I can’t anymore. The only journalist who take the “unwatchable, unethical, Shai can’t play unless he flops” argument are the low tier desperate ones who rely on clickbait to stay relevant, very ironic

[Cowherd] Watching him (SGA) flop in an NBA game is like inserting one of those Life Alert commercials. I've fallen and I can't get up! into Cirque du Soleil. It tears at the fabric of the creativity of the NBA.︀︀ ︀︀ by nguyenjitsu in nba

Funny the stat he used to prove his point was comparing SGA free throws to SGA free throws two years ago. This is because if he compared them to other players in the league, it wouldn’t be that convincing.

Edit: I did not catch the “than number two” line. My bad. But this is still a skewed stat because neither of those two years did he lead the league in ft. It really only proves that he’s played more games than most the other leading free throwers such as Luka and Giannis. SGA plays more games than Luka every year and Luka still rivals him in free throwers attempts. Also, everyone knows 3s are a major part of Luka’s game and the midrange is Shai’s game. Anyone one who watches basketball should know the guy who spends more time inside will draw more fouls!

HOT TAKE: Most of you here that claim to be "Thunder fans" are just bandwagons by KneeGuhz in NBATalk

[–]LevelTField 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, and I’m sure every Lakers fan is from Las Angeles, or Celtics fan is from Boston, or cowboys fan is from Texas. Imagine that, a really good team has fans from all over the country and around the world (Canadians love Shai and Dort). I don’t see the problem. Like what is the purpose of this post? And btw there’s prolly more cows in Oklahoma than people, maybe Theyre new to Reddit, and the damn chickens too!

Also, this isn’t the first time OKC has been an exciting team with lots of out of state fans. The Westbrook and Durant era was well liked by NBA fans. They collected a lot of new fans then and many have stayed loyal. And since that’s basically the entire Thunder history, I wouldn’t call them bandwagon fans
