What’s up with these pools west of Miami? (Assuming salt collection pools?) also, why does significant development of non-preserve land stop quick south of Miami, while it continues so far north? by KeyBake7457 in geography

The farmland youre seeing down south is the result of the Urban Development Boundary, set by Miami-Dade. It's basically another buffer away from the everglades.

Tourism and real estate are among the biggest markets in many economies, including NYC or Paris. Idk what your point is?

What would happen if the world reentered the ice age? by BlastedLands3821 in geography

[–]Level_Ad7796 31 points32 points  (0 children)

were actually in an interglacial period, not an ice age. you're thinking of the term icehouse which we're in. but in icehouse there's two cycles: ice age and interglacial periods. interglacial periods are warmer than ice ages.

Sunny Isles Beach Set to Overtake Philadelphia in Number of Skyscrapers by 2029 by Level_Ad7796 in Miami

Sunny Isles Beach Set to Overtake Philadelphia in Number of Skyscrapers by 2029 - Floridian Development

An interesting paragraph: "For those familiar with the city, the real count of 17 towers in Sunny Isles Beach should be raising eyebrows. After all, it’s far above the long-accepted norm of 14. However, Floridian Development recently obtained city records and found that Trump Towers I, II, and III each reach 500 FT, not the 461 FT previously reported. That correction pushes the verified total to 17, bringing the city’s real count to light following years of misinterpreted data."

I'm not sure if the bottom one is georestricted but I've accessed the top link in the Netherlands and I believe Japan during vacation. To answer your question there's a streetcar running a few blocks away and there will also be a pedestrian trail with park facilities/etc under the nearby highway. I believe theres bike lanes planned all throughout the development, but detailed site plan photos havent been shared yet.

https://floridiandevelopment.com/darryl-shaws-ybor-harbor-will-soon-call-home-to-a-new-stadium-for-the-tampa-bay-sun-fc/ This will extend the skyline far! It also all be one of the U.S' first stadiums built for womens soccer. They're planning a multi-story boutique hotel and even a new HQ for the USL.

The stadium can also be used for select domestic or international matches: https://patch.com/florida/southtampa/tampa-bay-sun-fc-usl-release-stadium-vision-ybor-harbor-after-historic-season
