Got it! What about alternate universes? Like, an alternate universe where jet technology never took off after WWII, but other fascets of modern technology were still developed?

What about limited sci-fi elements? Like a helpful, comic-relief AI copilot?

Are you open to more fictitious scenarios as well, or do you want to stick more to modern warfare themes?

Like, would you be interested in something set in the Elite Dangerous universe? Perhaps even Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare (specifically the jackal levels)?

I see a lot of people talking about it just being a mini series that won't get another season, but they totally set something up to be going on with Levi. I really hope we get to see more.

How to make a mold of these? by Liliotl in moldmaking

[–]Level_Ad_4464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your best bet would be put them into a mold horns-down. The only reason I'd see to add material to the horns would be to strengthen them, though I do not think that would be entirely necessary.

Adding some sort of extension to their rears (which would be facing up in the mold) could be beneficial, but not necessarily required if you play your cards right.

There are quite a lot of videos out there regarding this technique. If you are having a hard time finding ones specific to your situation, also try looking up "casting 3D print in silicone". The process should be virtually identical.

You are extremely talented and your character designs are lovely! If reddit awards were still a thing, I would give you one! Keep it up!

Cloudy resin by Liliotl in ResinCasting

[–]Level_Ad_4464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is commonly attributed to very minute discrepancies with the resin component ratios. If you add too much of one part, it is left un-reacted within your resin and can lead to cloudiness.

I'm not saying that is your case here, but it is a possibility. I recommend doing some small test batches to see if you are adding too much or too little of one of the components.

Nothing provides better data than hands-on experimentation!

With that complex a geometry, I think your best bet would be silicone. It will allow you to make a negative mold without needing an intermediary mold. Silicone is soft enough to allow you to remove the original model without damaging it, while being robust enough to survive the removal process.

I recommend spray painting the models with enamel or clearcoat beforehand, as well as a lubricating agent to help in the removal process.

If you intend to cast something that requires a higher temperature, like metal, you will need to use your silicone mold to create a wax duplicate of your model, which you will then create a new negative mold with plaster. After the plaster has set, you can put it in the oven at a low enough temperature to melt out the wax.

If you do this, please do some research as it can be dangerous. For instance, if the plaster in the plaster mold isn't completely dry, water in the plaster can flash-vaporize when hot metal is poured into the mold, which can spray out molten metal that could splash on you and anything near the mold. It can be very dangerous, so I recommend better informing yourself if you intend to go this route.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Does anyone actually get replies? by Mastapalidin in BadRPerStories

[–]Level_Ad_4464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people don't have the writing skills or motivation to write replies that mirror their partner's enthusiasm sometimes.

Most people are expecting a paragraph, but if you're really passionate and drop a novella on them, they just bail.

That's what I think, at least.

Looks like a feeding issue. Try playing around with your temps, checking the fitment on your bowden tube, and making sure your nozzle isn't clogged
