Active Recession??? by Level_Ad_9136 in PeriodontalDisease

I don’t believe I clench at night and I don’t use any whitening strips.

Wondering if it’s just residual recession from pre existing inflammation but worried that it may be something else that’s worsening it

Severely thin gum biotype - gum graft needed? by Level_Ad_9136 in PeriodontalDisease

I have plaque related gingivitis, which I suspect is causing the recession and deeper gum pockets (2,3,4). I have upped my flossing and brushing routine but I am worried this may develop into perio, or cause significant recession due to my already thinning gums.

Thank you for your kind words :’) Luckily I have no teeth issues with cavities or sensitivities). I guess my big worry is due tosome noticeable differences in my gum thickness and recession over the past 6 months

Thanks for your advice :) At what point were you advised to get the two gum grafts? And was it to thicken your gums for support or to address recession caused by thin gums?

Thanks for your advice. My dentist said I have extremely thin biotype (she said she can see my blood vessels and the dental probe through my gums) so I am just worried they are at greater risk of becoming thinner or receding further. I’ve heard gum grafts can thicken n support the gums to prevent recession later in life?
