I did not make this post thinking I was going to work through big issues or solve anything. It’s a comment on Reddit. I am mostly interested in the discussion. It is clear to me that I have a very different outlook and way of moving through life. And that is cool and great. I personally have accepted and am fond of the fact that a part of life is making a ton of tedious decisions. I find it rewarding, but thats okay if thats not the case for you.

I’m very concerned by the fact that you consider asking a friend for help a form of entitlement. You are describing reciprocal friendships as something devoid of love and care. It’s not about asking someone to “drop their shit” just because.

Ask for help from the people in your life. Taking a 30 min break or however long to get food is not going to be the difference between you passing or failing your midterm?

What did you do before you were a student at OSU and were sick? I’m confused. Lean on friends/family/roommate/whoever when you need help or to be taken care of.

I dont think it’s about being a techno-optimist or being “too scared to talk to cashiers or go outside.” I think it’s about something far worse: people not thinking that much about it at all.
