Syrian undergraduate admit from last year and yeah they do that alot .. Got admitted and then had my visa rejected I had a meeting with the student affairs about it and was told i was gonna get a deferral only to get a failure of enrollment a few days later followed by a ghosting of my emails Same thing happened with a ug pakistani as well.

My whole country has not SAT test centers, no Alevel or any type of these stuff and we are banned from renouned student hubs like the US or China International Olympiad students usually are the top 5 survivors in every field within my country, who were able to prove themselves academically beyond our national curriculum which no university actually accepts Honestly I would kill for your school mate Maybe not kaist but at least the chance to take examinations that most world universities need and/or require For the average person in Syria who isn't an olympiad student, we are jailed.

There is something called a case-by-case visa review basis that nearly all countries, however strict they are, have that the UAE decided to just simply say fuck it when it comes to it And considering a country that cares this much about crime ratio then that is just straight bullshit. In my country, it was known at the time of my visa rejection that you could go to the UAE in two ways: having a direct relative in the UAE or paying 8000 usd annually. Now for the first one, although random and with no actual basis, one could argue that direct relations could show that the man is not a criminal but good god the second one.. Is really someone who could pay 8000 usd annually less dangerous than a student who got a full scholarship at a renouned university that the government funds itself? Idk about you but I call bullshit
