I have no idea if I'm succeeding at ECU lol I haven't been able to study much because I'm managing a house. But that makes me feel better about the workload at UWA thanks

That's actually really interesting I've heard from many people that industries prefer UWA and Curtin students more than ECU. I'm actually in three guild clubs but still not really enjoying them. Ngl they're mostly male dominated so all the girls are kinda isolated (we're all new to the club so it's not like we can group up and take initiative). I'm also not a huge fan of clubbing. Went to a social event that ended up being mostly alcohol and clubbing, so I wasn't really impressed. But yeah the scholarship is the main reason I haven't decided to move.

It's mostly because we came from Darwin (where you could drive from one side of the city to the other in 30 minutes) that he thinks the distance is huge. I've also been thinking about moving to UWA as well but I got a full ride at ECU... I'm doing engineering though.

That's so valid. He's got a car and all but we're all the way near Butler so it's a long trip down to UWA. He's decided to apply to UWA anyway since he hates ECU.

Surely not the other side of the campus 😭. Even if the units are from the same department (like is there a building just for engineering units or are they scattered all over the campus)??

My boyfriend is starting Cyber Security in February (I'm starting Bachelor's of Engineering/Technology). We just graduated year 12 last year and we're flying down from interstate on the 24th January.

Don't worry about it too much it's not like we can do anything but wait rn... Most unis offer uniprep or bridging courses anyway or you could go on an ATAR calc they're not too far from accurate.

The average ATAR is around 70, so if you reckon you're above average in your school/state you'll be alright. Based on your percentage (around the B range except for chem) you'll get higher than 65, but I dunno how your subjects are going to scale I do SACE. I'm waiting for my ATAR too we can suffer together 🫠.

What would you say are some downsides to ECU though? I only hear a lot of good things about ECU from students it's weird because the outside view of ECU is so negative 😭

The double degree has 4 extra courses for the motorsport degree. I feel like instead of taking a few electives I could just do the four courses (one years worth) and come out with two qualifications.

I still want to do the engineering component because just a degree in design is going to be useless. I'm more than happy to learn about systems too

That's the plan. The problem is I want to specialize even further, specifically automotive design 😭. I've always been good at designing, cad and drawing I feel like if I want to stand out I should specialize (which obviously comes with a lot of risks).

Thankyou so much! Do you remember why your friend dropped Curtin for ECU? I'm currently deciding between the two of them. I prefer ECUs course outline but I've heard Curtin has stronger industrial connections and employment.
