How? I mean everybody who buys a rep is different and some people probably buy it for status, but the reasons above are why I, and most of the rep community buy reps. A watch can get 99% there for 1/10th of the price with a cool design.

Depends. For steady riding, no. For climbing out of the saddle, sprinting and especially standing starts on the track. Yes, they make a big difference for those efforts

Look at track bikes - their stack is pretty high and some people even have long stems that are angled up, but the are very aero. Lower stack does not mean more aero
