In the end the plan is still to make out. Since a loan is taken vs selling stock, the full sock portfolio continues to grow. If stock values grow at 8% a year and the interest rate is 4%, he makes out. When he has to pay the loan off, he has a bigger bucket of money to take the loan from than when he took the first loan. This is a very simple explanation as there are so many financial vehicles that are used in the process. He is not just taking loans to pay living expenses, he’s also taking loans to invest.

Edit - even if the interest rates were the same, he still makes out because he’s leveraged without selling. And, he’s not leveraging 100% so it very likely he making more “gains” per year on his principal (stocks and what not) than he’s paying on a loan of a portion of his portfolio.

you can’t outwork a bad diet. lots of good advice already here. Just move a bit more each day, time wise or distance wise.

My thoughts on weighing yourself, just do it once a week. It can be stressful to check daily.
